Title: Saving, “Thank You”

Text: Colossians 3:16-17 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Introduction: Christ followers should lead the culture in acts of kindness and courtesy.

Many believe they are entitled and the world owes them something.

Saying thank you:

I. Is important to our witness.

1. The witness of grateful children. Luke 17:17

2. The witness of public prayer.

II. Saying, “thank you” is crucial to being joyful.

..Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:10

1. Crucial to joyous fellowship-Gal. 4:15 “what has happened to your joy?”

2.Crucial to joyous giving.

3. Crucial to joyous loving. Revelation 2:4 God’s great love for the Ephesians, they were “made alive in Christ” and that new life was exhibited in the passion of gratitude.

III. Saying, “thank you” is essential to forgiveness and restoration.

-Matthew 26:10 The women who anointed Jesus needed to hear that she had done a beautiful thing.

IV. Saying, “thank you” is core to evangelism.

-- The Gadarene Demoniac was told to go back to his village and tell the people what God has done for them. Mt. 8.28-34

Conclusion: Jesse’s dad lost two brothers in a drowning accident, but ended up saving others while serving in the coast guard. The best way to say thank you is to share our faith with others.
