God calls us to live righteous lives. But Romans tells us that no one is righteous. So, God wants to me to be righteous. I want to be righteous... but no one is righteous so I canít be righteous. How can that possibly make sense?

In this passage, it almost seems like Peter is heavily focused on persecution of the Christians he's writing to... and then he just switches gears and talks about something totally unrelated. It seems that way, but it's not.

Justification sounds like a $20 word that nobody would use outside of Church. But surprisingly the words justify and justification are interwoven into our culture and are used in ways that tell us a lot about what God did when He justified us.
