In Greek, the word translated "perfect" in Matthew is "teleios". " If something accomplishes what it is designed to do, it is said to be perfect that is "teleios" So "telios" is often translated as "mature". "Teleios" has the idea of "being complete."

A little boy was asked, "What is a saint?" He replied, "A Saint is a person who lets the light shine through." Evidently he got this idea by watching the sun shine through the prophets of God in the stained-glass windows of his church.
I ask this question because I see something in the text that suggests to me that there is a lot more to repentance than is often taught in the Christian church today.
