Matthew 5:13-16

Calvary's Vision: Loving God, Loving Others and Serving the World!

ƒÞ Matthew 22:36-40 -- The Great Commandment!

ƒÞ Matthew 28:19-20 -- The Great Commission!

Calvary's Mission: "Passionately through the love of Christ we will intentionally disciple as we work shoulder to shoulder to reach and serve our community and the world."

Salt and Light:

1. We exist to Passionately Celebrate the Lord! Worship

Deuteronomy 6:13 "Respect the LORD your God. You must worship him and make your promises only in his name." (NCV)

True worship happens when you give yourself completely to God!

2. We exist to be loved in God's Family! Fellowship

1 John 3:18 "Our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action." (TEV)

The best expression of love is time!

3. We exist to work shoulder to shoulder to intentionally grow! Discipleship

Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpens iron, as one man sharpens another." (HCSB)

God's ultimate goal for your life is not comfort but a Christlike character.

4. We exist to reach others for Christ by sharing His word! Evangelism

Matthew 9:37b-38 "The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out the workers into His harvest." (HCSB)

Our Mission has eternal significance!

5. We exist to serve others by demonstrating God's Love! Ministry

Matthew 20:27-28 "Jesus said, Your attitude must be like my own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served, but to serve and to give my life." (LB)

Service is not an option!
