Sing Unto the Lord a New Song

Psalms 89:1Psalms 95:1/2

There was a time on earth, when in the book of heaven. An old account was standing for sins yet unforgiven. My name was at the top and many things below; So, I went up to the keeper and settled it long ago.

My heart was distressed beneath Jehovah’s dread frown, and low in the pit where my sins dragged me down. I cried to the Lord from the deep miry clay, He tenderly brought me out to golden day. He brought me out of the miry clay.

For I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained with sin sinking to rise no more. But the master of the sea heard my despairing cry, and from the waters lifted me, now safe am I. For it was God’s love that lifted me, His love lifted me; when nothing else could help love lifted me.

There are days I’d like to be all alone with Christ my Lord, I can tell Him of my troubles all alone. For I know I’m a child of the King, the child of a King. With Jesus as my Savior, I’m a child of the King. You see, He was nailed to the cross for me, He was nailed to the cross for me; on the cross crucified in great sorrow He died, He was nailed to the cross for me.

Those nails that held him to the cross created a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel’s veins; and sinners plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains. Would you be free from your burden of sin? There is power in the blood, power in the blood. For without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Do you fully trust in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? For His blood reaches to the highest mountain and flows to the lowest valley. It’s

His blood that gives me strength from day to day, it will never, never lose its power. There is power; power wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb.

Are you living in the shadow of the cross, where the Savior took your place? By the cross He’ll lead us to that home above; there we’ll see Him face to face. As we journey on toward heaven’s shining goal, we may suffer pain and lose; burdens only bring us blessings if we live in the shadow of the cross.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light and the burdens of the heart rolled away. It was there by faith I received my sight and now I am happy all the day. Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see.

O how sweet to trust I Jesus, just to take Him at His word; just to rest upon His promise; just to know, “Thus says the Lord.” Jesus is the sweetest name I know, and he’s just the same as His lovely name. There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing His praises. Like His name is wonderful, there’s just something about that name or Jesus name above all names.

Hallelujah what a thought! Jesus full salvation brought, victory, victory. Let the powers of sin assail, Heaven’s grace can never fail, victory, O victory in Jesus my Savior forever, He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood.

He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due him. He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood. Those are beautiful words, wonderful words wonderful words of Life. Sing them over again to me, Wonderful words of Life.

When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say. “It is well; it is well with my soul. So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown.

Now you may ask. Does Jesus care? O yes He cares; I know He cares; His heart is touched with my grief. When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares. Does Jesus care when my heart is pained, too deeply for mirth and song; as the burdens press, and the cares distress, and the way grows weary and long. He cares, O yes He cares.

I know you care. But Master the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high! The sky is o’er shadowed with blackness, no shelter or help is nigh.” Then to hear Him say, “Peace, be still! Peace, be still! The winds, the waves, and the storms of life, they all shall sweetly obey thy will, Peace, peace be still!
