Summary: the opening thought for the year 2007. When all else fails, falls, or flys off, Take a Stand for God

Take a Stand for God

Daniel 6:1-26 Galatians 5:1

Verses 1-3

We notice that living right for God has brought Daniel to receive the blessings from the Lord openly in the world.

Verses 4-9

It is because of God’s blessing, and Daniels obedience to God, that some the people around Daniel grew up with envy, strive, and jealousy for him.

Verse 10

Stand firm, no matter what they may do or say.

Verse 11-13

We see the accusers coming before the king to accuse him of breaking the established law of the Medes & Persians,(a) which meant death. Not knowing that Daniel had already stood before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

a. Not only did they say to the king (the laws) do not change for anyone (Vv.15). God’s Word never changes either.

We can see here that Daniel witnessed to Darius, for the king knew of Daniel’s God.

Daniel took a stand for God no matter what the cost was going to be, will you???

In Vv.22 he cried out My God

In Vv. 23 he believed.

He knew that if he did pray, death was to come.

He knew that it was more important to serve God, then the will of men.

He knew that his time w/ God was important, and nothing was going to interrupt it.

He knew the law that was written, he himself was part of the leadership of king Darius.

He knew that he would be put to death, and would not waver to the pressure of the people or the king.

1 Corinthians 6:13 says….

”Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”

2 Corinthians 1:24 says…

Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

Daniel knew what to hold on to, no matter what. He alone had seen the wonderful works of God, and would not waver; no matter the cost. He knew his faith was sure! Do you?

Galatians 5:1 says….

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Verse one (1) says to stand fast in the liberty we have.

The old covenant was one of bondage, sin, and death.

The new one is freedom, righteousness, and life eternal

Verses 7-8 says…

“Ye did run well (bravely); who did hinder you (cut in like a dancer) that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you”

YOU AND I CAN NOT WAIVER NO MATTER THE COST, IF ALL ABABNDON, IF ALL HATE, IF ALL ACCUSE, STAND FIRM!

Verse ten (10) says…

I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

Verse thirteen (13) says…

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Meaning we have been called to total freedom from all the law.

But this can not cause you think that you have no responsibility to do right!

Romans 8:16 says…

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Philippians 1:27 says…

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Matthew 12:25 says…

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

No Matter what the cost, the husband and wife must take a stand for the Cause of Glory.

And whoever does not like what is going on inside the house, can step outside while we do what is right in the site of God.

The Three (3) Hebrew Children; stood together no matter what the cost or outcome was going to be, they stood firm in Jehovah (Daniel 3:14-18)

Strength in private, gives strength in public.

If you are weak publicly, it speaks volumes of who you are in private.

My friends you and I need to take a stand now more than ever.

Ask the men and women to stand and repeat these words.

I will fight for my home. I will fight for my children.

I will fight for my husband I will fight for my wife.

I will fight for my church. I will fight for my brethren.

I will fight for the cause of Christ.

I WILL FIGHT!!!!!!
