Jesus Is Our Burden Bearer?
Father the task of preaching your Gospel is once again in my keeping. I commit myself to do the very best that I can. Clear my mind of distractions, warm my heart with compassion, and fill my soul with faith in your goodness and power. Speak to me that I may speak for you. Speak through me that I may speak to those who wait to hear your Gospel. Right now Lord I ask that you remove self, I ask that you remove pride -- increase in me and I decrease in you; hide me behind your cross. Lord, I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart are acceptable in thy sight. Oh Lord you are my strength and my redeemer. This is my prayer.
For our text this morning let us consider Matthew 11: 28-30.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I want to spend just a little time to talk about: Jesus our Burden Bearer?
How many of you know that Jesus is your Burden bearer…know that U know.
Luke warm – fire shut up in my bones christian
In Jeseus…In Christ….2 Cor 5:17…..Can’t spell Jesus without us
For I know if you are in Jeses, He can heal your financial situation. And put money in your pocket. He can heal your broken down marriage. And put love back in your heart. He can heal your drug ridden children and make them whole again. He can heal that broke down car, and make it drive just like new. He can heal that dysfunctional relationship between you and your family and make it whole. All of these are burdens of sorts and some times we have to go through some trials in life.
Some time ago, and I would surmise you can imagine life on a plantation. Holy Ghost moved through one of our brothers in Christ, and inspired them to sing an old familiar gospel tune, one that we still sing to this day. The song starts out:
“Glory, glory, hallelujah
Since I laid my burdens down.
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Since I laid my burdens down.”
I know somebody in here has heard this powerful song before. Can I get a witness? But in putting this song together, the song’s creator didn’t just stop there, for he went on to sing a second verse that says:
“I feel better so much better
Since I’ve laid my burdens down.
I feel better so much better
Since I’ve laid my burdens down.”
***I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel -- like burdens knocking me down to the gutters and the slum of life. Do you ever feel like……
But we can feel better so much better because my bible tells me that he will uphold thee with the right hand of his righteousness. This means that you can withstand whatever the Devil is throwing at us.
I don’t know about you -- but that tells me something- it tells me that I can can tell the Devil - that I am not in this struggle alone. It means that I can tell Satan that my God has got my back. Not only does He have my back, but got front and both of side.
And when I at my lowest point and it seems like the enemy is encamped around me, I can look at Satan and tell him “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills. From whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Allow foot to be moved….shade at my right..sun or moon. Protect me from
