Summary: Do You Need The Anointing? Jesus said in Acts 1:8 "Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Chrisma - Endowement of the Holy Spirit- the Anointing, the Unction.

The Anointing John say’s "Abideth in You"

In Acts 1:8 Jesus told the disciples

But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you ; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The Anointing comes to endow us for service.

You cannot be effective for ministry if you don’t have the Anointing. The power comes only after one has been "filled with the Holy Ghost."

One cannot function in the Gifts of the Spirit without the Anointing. ( 1 Corinthians 12:7-11)

"Giftings" or "Anointings" are manifested by the Holy Ghost not you! (1 Corinthians 12:7)

Flesh cannot glory in God’s presence. (1 Corinthians 1:29)

This is why its important that we put off the old man our former conversation which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (Ephesians 4:22) and walk in the New Man which is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24) and be renewed in the spirit ( small "s" meaning man’s spirit) of your mind. (Ephesians 4:23) and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable , and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

If the old man is not crucified (made dead) in the Greek the word is mortiphe which is where we get our English word mortify. The flesh must be dead brought under subjection.God never intended for us to be ruled by our flesh. Our spirit man must have precedence over our flesh.

In closing:

This is why it is important to put on the whole Armour of God (Ephesians 6:14 - 18) and walk by faith. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

God Bless You!
