The Big Question Mark in the Sky

William Akehurst, HSWC

This morning, while getting into my truck to go to work. I stopped and looked up into the sky asking the LORD to guide me today. But what I saw, confounded me. The Big Dipper was turned on its end, it was a BIG QUESTION MARK in the Sky. A point to ponder wouldn’t you agree?

Deuteronomy 30

Deuteronomy 30:11-14, 19-20

Psalm 19:1-3

Joshua 24:15

This morning as I looked up into the sky I saw the Big Dipper. What interested me and caused me to ponder was its peculiar position in the sky this morning. I’ve seen these stars, this constellation often in my lifetime; specifically during the hayride “round-ups” at Beachmont Christian Camp in the fall season. The Big Dipper has always reminded me of those evenings around the campfire. But I never came to the thought I had today. This morning, I realized the position of the Big Dipper was turned on its end; it was that of a question mark.

A question mark in the sky? Talk about looking to the heavens for signs and wonders and today I see a question mark!! ?? What’s that all about? Interesting point to ponder.

The Heaven’s declare the glory of God...night to night shows knowledge.

Psalms 19:1-3

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

But a question mark in the sky??? Wow. Thought provoking.

While God has His plan for my life, I am given the will to choose. I must choose wisely. Am I looking UP to the LORD for my answers? or am I going to allow the circumstances and my surroundings govern my day?

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Choose this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD.

Quit looking around you, the WORD is right there before your eyes. Dig in, listen to what the Holy Spirit says, and DO IT!

Deuteronomy 30:11-14

11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

WE HAVE A DECISION. The big question mark in the sky, which will it be? Life or Death?

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

CHOOSE LIFE and LIVE.
