Summary: The Birthright of the Christian…

The Birthright of the Christian…

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."— 2 Corinthians 3:17.

Through Jesus Christ / LIBERTY is the birthright of every man

We the sons and daughters of Adam.

You may be born a pauper; you may be an orphan; your family may be altogether unknown; but liberty is his inalienable birthright.

You may not have a stitch of clothing, except a few rags to cover your body from the cold; but, poor as you may be, GOD has fashioned YOU for freedom—YOU have a right to be free, and if You do not liberty, Which is Your birthright, Then YOU should not to be content until You Possess it.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Great liberty." Thank God, this is a free country.

We owe our liberty in part to worship freely in America, to men of the strict Puritanical school, the first settlers—men who loathed becoming the fearful NOT yielding their principles at the command of man.

Gal 5:1

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,* and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Nkjv

Gal 5:1

So Christ has really set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. NLT

And if we ever are to maintain our liberty IT MUST BE kept in our hearts —by our faith, conviction and our walk with the Lord. (Because God enables us to do so by the spirit)

Gal 5:18

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. NKJV

There is a liberty in the spirit, which Christians alone enjoy; WE are not to abuse our liberty

Gal 5:13

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. NKJV

The truth makes us free. He who has forgiveness, grace and mercy plus the desire to serve GOD in his heart is free; because he has God within him has the indwelling Spirit of the Holy Ghost;

BECAUSE OF JESUS CHRIST the Great Redeemer / OUR knight in shinning amour HE who has rescued us from Hell, Sin and DEATH the Grave.

We are princes of the royal blood of heaven; we are nobles, having the true patent of nobility; WE are one of God’s elect, distinguished, chosen children, and we are not the to bend, or stray from our conviction.

We would rather walk the burning furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—or be cast into the lion’s den with Daniel, than yield a point of principle. This is a free man. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty"

Liberty from the Penalty of Sin. — Free from what? Eternal death—torment for ever—that is the sad penalty of sin.

It is no comfort to fear that if I died right now I might be in hell.

It is no pleasant thought for me to stand here and believe that if I died unsaved

I must sink into the arms of Satan and have him for my tormentor.

There is liberty from the guilt of sin. This is the wonder of wonders. The Christian is positively not guilty any longer the moment he believes. Jesus paid the ultimate price.

WITH HIS BLOOD

Furthermore, the Christian man, who is delivered from the guilt and punishment of sin, is likewise delivered from The dominance / Power of it.

We are free to enter heaven. When a Christian dies, he knows the open sesame that can open the gates of heaven, he knows the pass-word that can make the gates fly wide open; he has the passport that shall give him the liberty to enter into heaven for eternity . In an instance he will be in the presence of God

This is the Gift Our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST GAVE to US

Freedom - to know what is right and the power to do it.

Illustration;

For example, a baby circus elephant may originally need to be restrained by a chain around its foot. It will strain and strain against its bonds but after a while it knows that it is impossible to break free, so it eventually gives up. When the elephant is older, all that is needed to keep it from running away is a small rope. The adult elephant is very capable of breaking its bond now, but because it has been conditioned with the impossibility of breaking free for so long in its mind, it’s given up without trying!

Just the flex of its muscle would pick up the stake and break the rope that has it bound but it has been preprogrammed for bondage. Freedom is our birthright but we are like that adult elephant. If he ever discovered his power over the rope he wouldn’t be kept in bondage. Freedom is the birthright of the church but we are held by the weak rope of Satan’s lie. Let’s flex our spiritual muscles like a modern day Samson and shake free from his bondage.
