THE INGREDIENTS FOR BELIEVING GOD PT 3

PT 1: Hook your mouth up to your heart!

PT 2: You can believe God with your heart and doubt in your head!

PT 3: It possible to receive the word with joy and then be offended?

Matthew 13:3-9 (NKJV)

3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow.

4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.

5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.

6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.

8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

Matthew 13:10

….the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"

Then He explains why

Matthew 13:18-19 (NKJV)

18 "Therefore hear the parable of the sower:

19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.

Matthew 13:19 (NCV)

The Evil One comes and takes away what was planted in that person’s heart.

LUKE SAYS……Luke 8:12 (NASB)

…..then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.

 What happens when you get the SEED OF GOD’S WORD?

1. You esteem the Word - exceedingly great - and - precious!!!!! 2 Peter 1:4

2. You listen to the word of God.

3. You allow the Word in your heart.

4. Then the seed thief comes!!

5. The devil is a seed thief

6. the devil will do everything he can to crush the seed

Now in……. Matthew 13:20 (NKJV)

20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;

1. Here is a welcoming of the word

2. on stony places ---- “where it has no real place to take root”

3. immediately receives it with joy;

Matthew 13:21 (NKJV)

21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

Matthew 13:21 (NASB) immediately he falls away.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Today I want to talk about the one who is

1. Offended or

2. The one who has fallen away

 Is it possible to revive the word with joy and then be offended?

 Be close to a miracle

 then be offended?

THE WORD offended

Greek Transliteration: skan – dal – izō

Usage Notes: No. 1), signifies "to put a snare or stumbling block in the way,

1. Our English word is scandal

2. to trap

3. or to trip up

LISTEN: ….Q: is the enemy wanting to trip you up?

SEE

The enemy will try TRAP you

The bible uses the word………..

• Offended or

• The one who has fallen away

The devil wants to…….

1. TRAP

2. trip

3. put a snare

4. or stumbling block in the way

Let me read the ….Matthew 13:21 (AMP)

21 Yet it has no real root in him, but is temporary (inconstant, lasts but a little while); and when affliction or trouble or persecution comes on account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble [he is repelled and begins to distrust and desert Him -----Whom he ought to trust and obey] and he falls away.

T.T. Matthew 26

Q: How often does this happen in the church

 A person hears the word and immediately receive it with joy

Then

1. A person falls away

2. They are offended

3. They begin to lose their faith!!!

4. They no longer believe Him

STATEMENT!

Faith or Believing God work by love

I trust, believe and have faith in Him because of the relation we have!!

Being a Christian IS NOT a religion – it’s a relationship

Look at how this happened to Peter

Matthew 26:30-31 (KJV)

30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All you will be offended because of me this night: (STOP RIGHT THERE) for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

The Reads Matthew 26:31 (AMP)

SLOW - …..You will all be offended and stumble and fall away because of Me this night [distrusting and deserting Me],
