Summary: There is no doubt that Jesus saves to the uttermost. Where the power of men stops, Jesus takes over. Where men fails, Jesus succeeds as it is written, with Jesus nothing shall be impossible!

John Chapter 5:2-10

John 5:2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 5:4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. 5:10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

What is a Protocol

A protocol is a set or sequence of rules that must be strictly followed to achieve a desired result. Here in the Bible text we are considering today, we see quite a number of things that must happen for anyone to receive healing at the Pool of Bethsaida. Looking at these set of protocols and the impotent man, gives us, as believers, hope that our change surely must come, come what may.

Quickly, let us look at the list of protocols that must be observed before anyone by thag pool can receive a miracle:

1. The man's problem has defiled solution for 38 years. But Whatever has a beginning must have an end.

Nahum 1:9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

2. The impotent man had no man to help. He needed men or someone to help to get his miracle but there was none. Everyone had forsaken him.

Psalms 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

3. An Angel must come to stir the Pool for any Miracle or healing to take place as a matter of protocol. When God arise, not even angels can atop him talk less of enemies.

Psalms 68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

4. There must be a jumping into the pool as a condition for healing. When God decides to help a man, like he did to this man, his outstretched arm will break every protocol.

Isaiah 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Infact see how He is described in

Deuteronomy 26:8 And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:

5. The Water Must Move

Our God is the mountain mover. Rev 3:7 says The Almighty that is able to open and no one closes. Even the waters and all creation obey him.

Matthew 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

6. It Must happen only at a certain Season. But because God was involved, season was put aside. For someone reading this today, it is your season of joy, of breakthrough and of laughter in Jesus name.

Psalms 102:13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

7. Another protocol is that his healing was not supposed to take place on a Sabbath. When God takes over a matter, the opinion of men does not matter any more.

Conclusion

Apostle Paul said in

Romans 8:37 - 39

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
