He placed his right foot on the sea and his left on the land; and he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars; and when he had cried out, the seven peals of thunder uttered their voices.”

1. The appearance of a strong angel out of heaven – Rev 10:1-3

a. He is clothed with a cloud – v. 1

b. He has a rainbow upon his head – Gen 9:12-15

Gen 9:12-15 “God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations; I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.”

c. His face is as the sun

d. His feet are as pillars of fire

2. The actions of the strong angel – v. 2

a. He holds in his hand a little open book –

b. He stands with his right foot upon the sea

c. He stands with his left foot upon the land

d. He cries with a loud voice – 3

Rev 10:4 (NASB) “When the seven thunders spoke, I was going to write, but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and don't write it down."

3. The sealing of the seven peals of thunder – v. 4

a. John hears the seven peals of thunder speak

b. John is about to write what he heard

c. John hears a voice from heaven saying:

- “Seal up what the seven peals of thunder have spoken”

- “Do not write them”

*Judgments so terrible men cannot comprehend it or receive it?

*Judgments so awesome Satan cannot imitate it?

John is muzzled! He is instructed not to write what he hears. Here is proof God knows more than you!

Don’t crave to know all the hidden things of God! Trust him that he will take care of all things. Aren’t there some things you keep hidden from your little children...for their sake? God is purposefully holding back what is going to happen.

How much worse can it get! Maybe God hides some things just so they’ll be a blessing later?

Deu 29:29 "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.”

Rev 10:5-7 (NASB) “Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, WHO CREATED HEAVEN AND THE THINGS IN IT, AND THE EARTH AND THE THINGS IN IT, AND THE SEA AND THE THINGS IN IT, that there will be delay no longer, but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as He preached to His servants the prophets.”

4. The Mighty Angel standing on the sea and the land – v. 5-7
