I. Cutivate the secret of the Lord’s presence

A. By reflecting on who he is-"my portion" v.5

B. By relating to what he offers-"I take refuge" v.1

C. By repenting of what he hates-"my goodness" v.2

D. By rejecting what he condemns-"I will not offer" v.4

E. By requesting what he promises-"Preserve me" v.1

F. By rejoicing in what he does-"makes saints" v.3

II. Calculate the significance of the Lord’s providence

A. In terms of past experience

1. He has seled me v.7

2. He has controlled me v.8

3. He has conforted me v.6

B. In terms of present experience

1. The support of His presence v.8b

2. The supply of his pleasure v.11

C. In terms of progressive experience

1. Direction in the part of life v.11

2. Deliverance in the place of death vs.9-11

III. Captive the sense of the Lord’s power

A. Through a personal relationship (I, my, etc.)

B. Through a powerful resurrection (v.10; Acts 2:25,28)
