Topic: The World’s Best Makeover!

Originally a charcoal sketch entitled "The Son of Man," in 1924, by the late great Christian artist and freelance illustrator, Warner Sallman (1892 - 1968), the artist made several variations or makeovers of his sketch which later became his oil painting entitled "The Head of Christ" - believed to be the most reproduced work of religious art in the world - selling in excess of one (1) billion copies!

Life is full of changes - some good, some bad, and some ugly! He was born in a tiny village of an important little country! During the first thirty years of His life we have only one brief glimpse of Him! Then, for three (3) short years, He served as a minister! He spoke in simple language - He healed the sick - He brought hope to sinners! A few people followed and learned from Him!

About thirty-three (33) years of age, He was crucified and three (3) days later arose from the dead! The few followers He had - initially in hiding out of fear - began to tell others about Him - and, every year more and more people heard about Him and were drawn to Him! Today, He has more followers than any person who has ever lived on the face of this earth!

Did you notice all the changes - changes in the lives of the Disciples/Apostles - changes in the life of Jesus, the Christ - changes in the lives of people! How does one explain that? We cannot explain it in human terms! There have been many good and great men and women in the history of mankind; but, none of them have ever become such an object of worship than Jesus, the Christ!

There is something Eternally different about Jesus, the Christ - there is something about that Name - and, many individuals can sing: "I know not how that Bethlehem’s babe could in the Godhead be; I only know the manger child has brought God’s life to me." The Apostle Paul tells the church at Corinth and us, in 1 Corinthians 2:9 )NLT): "That is what the Scriptures mean when they say: ’No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for them that love Him.’"

Mankind has never seen anything - mankind has never heard anything - mankind has never imagined anything as wonderful as the change that Jesus, the Christ, brings in the lives of people when they completely love and trust Him with all of their hearts - with all of their minds - with all of their souls - and, with all of their strength!

No preacher can ever express in words what Jesus, the Christ, can do for a human life! He has conquered the world! The reason that more and more people worship Him is that He is the only One that can save them from Eternal destruction! Look at what He did for Simon Peter - He took a brash, impulsive fisherman and made him a great man of God! Look at what He did for Matthew - He took a greedy tax collector and made him a great man of God! Look at what he did for John - He took a hotheaded young man and made him an Apostle of love! Look at what He did for Mary Magdalene - he took a woman out of the gutter and made her a lovely woman of God! Look at what He did for Saul - He took a narrow-minded, bigoted individual and
