To BE or NOT to be.
by William Akehurst, HSWC

Acts 15:11
"But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved"

In the words of William Shakespeare, "To be or not to be, that is the question."

One side or the other, not sitting on the fence. You either are, or you are not. And it is a choice. To be, or not to be, that IS the question.

To BE WHAT?

To BE a Christian. THAT is the question. To BE a Christian, or not to be a Christian. To BE in CHRIST, or NOT to be in Christ

OK, I’ve got that. We must BE Christians to have eternal life, and forgiveness as it says in the WORD.

How are we to live as Christians?
How are we to BE?

I know the BE-Attitudes as spoken by Jesus. We are to be pure in heart, be merciful, and be peacemakers.
How else does the Word of God put it? We are to BE many things.
Be Strong,
Be Loving,
Be Kind,
Be Forgiving,
Be Patient,
Be Joyful,
Be Helpful,
Be Giving, etc.

I went to Biblegateway.com and searched the bible for the word BE. I got a response from the website. ‘BE’ is a very common word and will be omitted from the search. In the bible, “BE” is too common a word to look up!
Interesting. I want to find out what it is that we are to do to BE a Christian, and it is so common of a word throughout the bible, I can’t get all the references.

After thinking and meditating on the word I started with the fruits of the Spirit.

But what is the greatest BE to the Christian. What is it we are to BE to even become a Christian.

First and foremost, We are to BE, BE-LIEVERS

You can’t BE a Christian if you do not BELIEVE.

So it all starts with BELIEVING.

John 3:16 ...that whosoever BE-LIEVES should not perish but have everlasting life.

Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

So first we must believe, then in order to live, and move, and BE, it must BE IN HIM, Christ Jesus.

Acts 17:28
For in Him we live, and move, and have our being
our BE-ING

TO BE - is to be BELIEVE in Christ.
The Question...DO YOU BELIEVE or NOT?
