VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. They cried out to GOD

"They cried out to God during the battle"

How many of us can say we called on GOD during our crisis in life? Tribes of Reuben and Gad did it.

Reuben - In Greek, it means "see, a son"

Gad - In Greek, it means "good fortune or troop" We see here that they lived out their father's (tribe's founder) name or their ancestor Gad.

Both are sons of Israel. We too are like them in some aspects.

We call out to GOD during not before the problems come. Could the problems have been avoided, if we have called on GOD before every problems come? We are called by GOD to make decisions before that event will ever took place in our lives. It should be a lifestyle of prayer.

Deuteronomy 30:19 (Amplified Bible)

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live

1 Timothy 2:8 (Phillips NT Bible)

I want the men to pray in all the churches with sincerity, without resentment or doubt in their minds.

2 Thessalonians 3:1 (Phillips NT Bible)

Finally, my brothers, do pray for us here. Pray that the Lord's message may go forward unhindered and may bring him glory, as it has done with you. Pray, too, that we may not be embroiled with bigoted and wicked men; for all men, alas, have not faith. Yet the Lord is utterly to be depended upon by all who have faith in him, and he will give you stability and protection against all that is evil. It is he who makes us feel confident about you, that you are acting and will act in accordance with our commands. May he guide your hearts into ever deeper understanding of his love and the patient suffering of Christ.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 (Phillips NT Bible)

In view of this great prospect, we pray for you constantly, that God will think you worthy of this calling, and that he will effect in you all his goodness desires to do, and that your faith makes possible. We pray that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may become more glorious through you, and that you may share something of his glory - all through the grace of our God and Jesus Christ the Lord.

Colossians 4:2 (Phillips NT Bible)

Always maintain the habit of prayer: be both alert and thankful as you pray. Include us in your prayers, please, that God may open for us a door for the entrance of the Gospel. Pray that we may talk freely of the mystery of Christ (for which I am at present in chains), and that I may make that mystery plain to men, which I know is my duty.

Ephesians 6:18 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

B. GOD answered their prayers.

"he answered their prayer because they trusted in him."

Psalms 91:15 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

Isaiah 58:9 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Then when you call, the Lord will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply. “Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!

Isaiah 65:24 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

Luke 11:9 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Here are GOD's promises of answered prayers and we ought to memorize each of them or at least have them ready when we pray to claim it.
