Week 1: The Unhindered kingdom.

Week 2 - Unhindered Forgiveness.

Worldly forgiveness is often based on:

How deep the hurt

How worthy we see the other person

Their relationship to us

Their level of remorse

One time or continual.

A. God’s Unhindered Forgiveness is offered to everyone.

The Old Testament system of forgiveness was about atonement through the blood of sacrifices.

Jesus comes and he is able to offer forgiveness by His word.

A man on a mat

An adulteress

A thief on the cross.

In the New covenant: we can experience initial forgiveness (Acts 2:38) as well continued forgiveness that comes through confession, and repentance.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:?While?we?were still?sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

God’s unhindered forgiveness is not based on who we are, what we have done, how worthy we are, how many times we have sinned. His unhindered forgiveness is based on who Jesus is and his redemptive act of sacrifice on the cross.

B. Unhindered Forgiveness transforms our life.

From enemy to friend,

From guilt to godliness

From captivity to freedom

From sick and dying to healing and life

It changes the way see God.

It changes the way see ourselves.

It changes the way we see sin and stuff of the world.

C. We are to offer unhindered forgiveness to others.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.?But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

When we refuse to forgive it can lead to:

Negative Emotions

Anger

Resent

Bitterness

Health Problems: Physical and mental.

Damaged Relationships

Being stuck in the past

Blocking God’s forgiveness in our life.

D. Unhindered forgiveness glorifies God.

I have sinned. I have hurt God, I have rebelled. I have chosen self over God. I have violated his commands. I have failed as a father, husband, minister. I have done the things I don’t want to do. I have not done the things I want to do.

I have rationalized my sin, ignored my sin, repeated my sin. Compared my sin to others, enjoyed my sin, and at times surrendered to my sin.

But I have also- mourned and wept over my sin. I have repented of my sin. I have walked away from my sin through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The lyrics to a popular worship song says it so well.

“Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin would look on me with love and watch me rise again

Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea would call out through the rain and calm the storm in me?

Not because of who I am, But because of what you've done

Not because of what I've done, But because of who you are.”
