"If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come."
Topic: Waiting On The Lord!
The Holy Scriptures - the written Word of Almighty God - were written by people who felt the same desires and faced the same disappointments that we do! These Biblical writers were dismayed - at times - by their circumstances! They knew what it was like to cry out to a silent God - they knew what is was like to come to the end of themselves - and, they knew what it was like to feel their emotions "going over the edge!" Yet, these people of the Holy Bible are important to us - today - because they lived long enough to recover their sense of joy and confidence in Almighty God! We are an impatient people - we simply do not like to wait - however, while we are waiting - we can enjoy Almighty God!
When we communicate with Almighty God - through prayer - we will receive one )1) of three (3) answers: (1) Yes; (2) No; and, (3) Wait! There is nothing that we are waiting for that can begin to compare with the privilege of knowing Almighty God! Most assuredly, there are times when we will be overwhelmed by our trials and tribulations - by our troubles - and, there are times when we will be crushed by our sense of grief and disappointment; however, there will also be many other times when we will laugh for joy because of what Almighty God is doing for us!
As we learn to wait upon the Lord - to wait on Almighty God - we can find delight in knowing Him - and, in knowing what He has already done for us and is currently doing in our lives! We can accept the invitation of the psalmist, as recorded in Psalm 100:4 (NLT): "Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and bless His name."
I don’t know about you; but, Almighty God has brought me from a mighty long way! Almighty God has done so much for each and every one of us! We need to thank Him for what He has done and is doing! The psalmist, David, in Psalm 30:11-12 (NLT), tells us: "You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give You thanks forever."
We need to praise Almighty God for Who He is and for what He has done for us! The Holy Writ is replete with expressions of praise to the Lord God Almighty! The psalmist, in Psalm 113:1-9 )NLT), tells us: "Praise the Lord! Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord! (v. 2) Blessed be the Name of the Lord forever and ever. (v. 3) Everywhere - from east to west - praise the Name of the Lord (v. 4) For the Lord is high above the nations; His glory is far greater than the heavens. (v. 5) Who can be compared with the Lord our God, Who is enthroned on high? (v. 6) Far below Him are the heavens and the earth. He stoops to look, (v. 7) and He lifts the poor from the dirt and the needy from the garbage dump. (v. 8) He sets them, among princes, even the princes of His own people! (v. 9) He gives the barren woman a home so that she becomes a happy mother. Praise the Lord!" The writer of Hebrews, in Hebrews 13:15 (NLT), tells us: "With Jesus’ help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming
