6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and be watchful to do them, that it may be well with you and that you may increase exceedingly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

Deuteronomy 32:10 (Amplified Bible)

He found him in a desert land, in the howling void of the wilderness; He kept circling around him, He scanned him [penetratingly], He kept him as the pupil of His eye.

Deuteronomy 32:10 (King James Version)

He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

A. We are found by the LORD in a desert and wasted wilderness

"He found him in a desert land, in the howling void of the wilderness;"

Psalms 107:4-5 (Amplified Bible)

Some wandered in the wilderness in a solitary desert track; they found no city for habitation.

Hungry and thirsty, they fainted; their lives were near to being extinguished.

Jeremiah 2:6 (Amplified Bible)

Nor did they say, Where is the Lord, Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, Who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death and deep darkness, through a land that no man passes through and where no man dwells?

Hosea 13:5 (Amplified Bible)

I knew (recognized, understood, and had regard for) you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

Deuteronomy 8:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

Who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, but Who brought you forth water out of the flinty rock,

Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.

The LORD took the initiative and not one of us took it. Actually we rejected His offer from time to time. But GOD demonstrated His own love for us.

Romans 5:8 (Amplified Bible)

But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.

1 John 4:19 (Amplified Bible)

We love Him, because He first loved us.

B. The LORD led us about by instructing us and keeping us as the apple of His eye

"He kept circling around him, He scanned him [penetratingly], He kept him as the pupil of His eye."

Psalms 17:8 (Amplified Bible)

Keep and guard me as the pupil of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings
