A Sermon For You

A Ministry of Huckaby’s Evangelism

We Shall See Jesus

By- Evangelist Gary Huckaby D.D.

Prayer:Heavenly Father; forgive us our sins against Thee. Let us look to you right now. Praise you my Lord, and lift up Thy Son Jesus among this people today. Let us see Jesus! In Christ My Lord, Amen!

We Shall See Jesus One Day

"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead."

Philippians 3:10-11.

I would like to lift out the first phrase of our text verse as my message today. "That I May Know Him." I have had the privilege of meeting some of what the fundamental world calls important people in my life thus far. I have met great preachers from the past, men such as John R. Rice, Jack Hyles, Curtis Hudson, Lester Roloff, Silas Fox, Bob Jones 2 and 3, Edd Vallowe. Sonny Holland, Doffus Price, Jack Van Impe, John Rollins, Greg Dixon, Ray Batema, Wallie Bebe, John Stancil, Bob Grey, and countless other great men of God. I have also met great politicians; men such as Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, George Bush, and other politicians of lesser rank such as senators, and representatives. I have worked along side of great men of law enforcement during my twelve years as a peace officer, many years ago. I have known great singers, and musicians, writers, and poets. I have dealt with men of great financial backings, manufacturing giants, sports figures, and the rest. But I have never in my life met anyone as great as the God that I met one June afternoon back in 1972. His name is Jesus Christ the Lord. And I long to see Him.

Heaven

Heaven is believed to be a wonderful place. From any human standpoint, any religious belief, heaven is believed to be a Blissful place. As a Christian we view the description of heaven from the Bible, the Word of God.

Heaven is a place of joy to those who get to go there. Even false beliefs about this place includes in their descriptions of it as a place of endless joy.

Heaven is a place of Peace; Almost every belief is in agreement to this.

Heaven is a place of Attainment to a person’s completeness. To this most beliefs agree too.

Heaven has One Entrance. Here is where we begin to differ though. Some claim that there are many ways to get into what they believe is heaven.

But;

Heaven’s Entrance Has Only One Door

This is the real division of the people and of their beliefs. Some say you can go to heaven only through, good works. Others say, No, it is only through a certain religion, and that their belief is the way. Others believe that one day the good works done, will be weighed against our bad works, and that if the person has done enough good, that is the door to heaven.

We Shall See The Door To Heaven

Before we read; I would like you to picture with me a door. The word, "Door" is defined by The Oxford American Dictionary like this; "Door: a hinged siding or revolving barrier that closes an entrance or exit, a means of obtaining or approaching something. From the Greek this word "Door" (when Jesus tells that He is the Door,) is defined as; thura; a portal of entrance (the opening or closure, Literally or figuratively) Door, gate.

Jesus is the door to heaven, and no one can enter into God’s dwelling place unless they enter through the Door. The only way one will gain entrance or approach the portal of eternity with God is through His Son, by faith in His shed blood for our sins, His bodily resurrection from the dead. He not only did this just for you and I, but He later ascend to the Father, and is now seated at God’s right hand, waiting for the day when He will return for His Bride, the church.

His Bride will one day see Jesus. Oh what glory that will be!

The Bible makes no apology for God’s way as being the ONLY WAY A sinner can only get to heaven through the Door, Jesus Christ; just listen to the words of Christ Himself from John 10:1-10.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but cometh up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice; and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him; for they know his voice. And a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him; for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them; but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
