"What Does It Mean To Be Crucified?"

Galatians 2:20

What does it mean? It means three things.

1. The man on the cross is facing only one direction.
2. He is not going back.
3. He has no futher plans of his own.

To many Christians are trying to face two directions at the same time. They are divided in heart. They want heaven, but they are in love with th world. Like Lotís wife, they are running one way, but they are facing another.
The person who is crucified with Christ is not going back to the old life. And a crucified person has no plans of his own. He finished with this life. Itís chains are broken, itís charms are gone.
Are you Crucified?

I. The Man On The Cross is Facing Only One Direction.

A. He set his face toward Jerusalem.

Luke 9:51 - And it came to pass, when the time had come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.

B. He looks neither left or right.

Luke 23:46 - And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father into thy hands I commend my spirit, and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

C. Forgetting, reaching, pressing.

Philippians 3:13,14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

D. Looking up, remption draws nigh.

Luke 21:28 - And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

II. Heís Not Going Back.

A. Elisha burned his plows.

IKings 19:21 - And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave untot he people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah and ministered unto him.

B. If any man puts his hand to the plow and looks back, he is not fit for the Kingdom.

Luke 9:62 - And Jesus said unto him, No man having put hsi hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

C. Lotís wife looked back - after being expressly told to flee the city, she just couldnít let go of it, and it caused her demise.

III. He Has No Futher Plans of His Own.

A. He has died to his own desires.

John 12:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone but if it die; it bringeth forth much fruit.

B. He dies daily.

ICorinthians 15:31 - I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

C. He is crucified unto the world.

Galatians 6:14 - But, God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

D. His desire is to do the will of the heavenly Father.

John 4:34 -
