When Jesus Is In The House!

Verse 3-Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.

Think for a minute about the people in your life that are like that paralytic. .

Maybe they’ve been paralyzed with guilt, or fear, hopelessness, loneliness!

Verse 4-And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

THEY WERE THINKING THE SAME WAY-Their hearts desire was to see this sinner brought to Jesus. We all have individual talents, but all should work together for the glory of God.

THEY HAD THE SAME MOTIVE- These men had a single motive, to get this sinner to the Savior. Nothing would stop them, not pride, not manners, not people, nothing could deter them from their goal of seeing this sinner meet Jesus, the great physician.

THEY WORKED TOGETHER-Their effort was concerted, if they had worked hard, but in different directions, the sinner would have never reached Jesus.

Division in the house of God will lead to no good end and the loss of many opportunities to lead the lost to the Savior.

A German soldier was wounded. He was ordered to go to the military hospital for treatment. When he arrived at the large and imposing building, he saw two doors,one marked, "For the slightly wounded," and the other, "For the seriously wounded. "
He entered through the first door and found himself going down a long hall. At
the end of it were two more doors, one marked, "For officer" and the other, "For
non-officers." He entered through the latter and found himself going down
another long hall. At the end of it were two more doors, one marked, "For party
members" and the other, "For non-party members." He took the second door, and when he opened it he found himself out on the street.
When the soldier returned home, his mother asked him, "How did you get along at the hospital?"
"Well, Mother," he replied, "to tell the truth, the people there didn't do anything for me, but you ought to see the tremendous organization they have!"

The soldiers comment describes many churches in our day: really organized, but accomplishing little.


Verse 5-When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

NOT ONLY DID JESUS HEAL THE MAN BUT ALSO HE FORGAVE HIS
SINS.

HE LOOKED BEYOND HIS FAULTS AND SAW HIS NEEDS. THE MAN DID NOT NEED PHYSICAL HEALING AS BAD AS HE DID SPIRITUAL HEALING.

THE MAN MAY NOT HAVE BEEN HEALED IF JESUS HAD NOT BEEN IN THE HOUSE.

IT WAS IN THE HOUSE THAT MARY WIPED THE FEET OF JESUS WITH HER HAIR.

IT WAS IN THE HOUSE THAT JESUS HEALED PETERS MOTHER-IN—LAW OF A FEVER.

IT WAS IN THE HOUSE THAT JAIRUS’ DAUGHTER WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD.

IT WAS IN THE HOUSE THAT DOUBTING THOMAS BECAME A BELIEVER.

IT WAS IN THE HOUSE THAT JESUS INSTITUT ED THE LORD'S SUPPER.

WHEN JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE WE CAN LOVE BETTER.
WHEN JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE WE CAN FORGIVE BETTER.
WHEN JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE WE CAN BE ON ONE ACCORD.
WHEN JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE SOULS CAN BE SAVED.

Don’t matter if it’s the white house, the court house, the school house, the church house or our house!

WHEN JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE GREAT THINGS WILL HAPPEN!
