Why They Do The Things They Do?

Summary: Why do people act the way they do, this message help us discover the answers to that question.
Verse 23-They didn’t complain, they didn’t say this is not fair, they praised God for what they were enduring.
We might have better results with our trials, if we would praise God instead of complain.
Verse 24-Lord, you are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea and all that is in them.
Christians should distinguish ourselves from the heathen, while they worship gods which they have made, we are worshipping the God that made us and all the world.
Verse 25-26-Psalm 2:1-6-2-Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with flitile plans?
The kings of the earth prepare for baffle; the rulers plot together against the LORD and against His Anointed one, saying, “Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.’ But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them, Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury.
For the Lord declares, “I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on My holy mountain:’
Had not nations and kings made futile plans in the past?
They would wage war with Israel or God chosen ones (People like David, Joseph, Moses, Daniel, Mordecai. . .list goes on) and did anyone ever defeat them or get the upper hand on them? No!
Did not king Herod have children two years and under killed so that he could protect his throne?
Did not the religious leader have Jesus crucified because He was taking away their power and prestige?
And now they are trying to keep silent the disciples from preaching about Jesus!
Trust me in our day and time there are nations and people who are trying to do the very same things to God and His people!!!
Why do people and nations do this?
Because they don’t want God to rule over them! They want freedom!
But the truth is if you are not serving God and doing what He wants you to do then you are serving the devil and doing what he wants you to do!
But guess who has your best interest at heart? God!!!
Sometimes when we hear of something preposterous or outlandish we often say, “Don’t make me laugh.”
God Laughs:
The creature rebelling against the Creator! The temporal revolts against the eternal!
Do people still make God laugh?
The ones who say He does not exist!
The ones who spend all their life to collect material things to leave it all behind when they die!
The ones who make power plays so that they can have the right connects that will bring them fame and fortunes!
What about us do we make Him laugh?
When we get up in the morning and never thank Him for the nights rest or the home we live in, the air that we breathe, or for the day He has made.
When we go to Church instead of being the Church!!!
He rebukes them:
The laughing turns to sorrow.. . This is going to hurt you more than it’s going to hurt me!
God does not only punish those who plot against Him, He also punishes those who continually ignore Him!
