Text: Zechariah 4:1-7 (King James Version)
"And the Angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of a deep sleep, (v. 2) And said unto me, ’What seest thou?’ And I said, ’I have looked, and behold a golden candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof. (v. 3) And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.’ (v. 4) So I answered and spake to the Angel that talked with me, saying, ’What are these, my Lord?’ (v. 5) Then the Angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, ’Knowest thou not what these be?’ And I said, ’No, my Lord.’ (v. 6) Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, ’This is the Word of the Lord unto Zerubabbel, saying, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit,"’ saith the Lord of hosts. ’Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubabbel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, "Grace, Grace unto it."’

Zechariah was a Prophet of Almighty God who worked together with the Prophet Haggai! His work focused mainly on the rebuilding of the temple! His Book starts out in a typical fashion with a call to repentance! But, then, we find the Prophet Zechariah having eight (8) visions - all occurring in one night! These visions were designed to motivate the people in completing the rebuilding of the temple as Almighty God revealed His zeal for Jerusalem and His house - as Almighty God revealed even greater things to come pertaining to His Servant - the Messiah!
This morning, as we engage the message of this Prophet, we will examine the last four (4) visions of the eight (8) visions that occurred in one night; and, one more vision that was given to the Prophet Zechariah!
In Chapter 4 of the Book of Zechariah, we find the fifth vision - "The Gold Lampstand and Two Olive Trees! In verses 1 through 3, we find the Prophet Zechariah being awakened from a deep sleep. He is shown a golden lampstand with seven lamps and seven pipes, with olive trees on both sides! In verses 4 through 5, the Prophet Zechariah asks what they represent and he is told in verse 6 that it is a message to Zerubabbel - the governor of Judah! In verses 6 through 7, he is told that by Almighty God’s spirit, not mankind’s might or power, Zerubabbel shall bring forth the capstone - the finishing stone - of the temple! In verses 8 though 9, we find that Zerubabbel will finish rebuilding the temple! In verse 10, we find that the eyes of the Lord, represented by the seven lamps, which scan the entire earth, rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubabbel! In verses 11 through 14, we see the olive trees which represent "two anointed ones!" Could these be Joshua the high priest and Zerubabbel the governor who stand beside the Lord? With such encouragement, "Who can despise the day of small things?" - as the temple looked when its foundation was first laid!
In Chapter 5 of the Book of Zechariah, we find the sixth and seventh visions - "The Flying Scroll" and "The Woman in the basket (Ephah)!" In verses 1 through 2, we find
