Psalms 34:15

Remember when you were last around a new born baby? What do they do when they need something? They cry out. And what does the good parent do? They listen for the cry and do whatever it takes to bring comfort rather it be change a diaper or to feed the baby.

When Austin and Kelsey were little, Becky and I would take them to the park or to a playground to play. We would sit on a bench nearby. We would watch and listen as they played. When they would fall and scrape a knee or hand, we would be right there to pick them up, brush them off and care for them.

God’s Word says (Psalms 34:15 NIV) "The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry". Wow. The Lord watches over the righteous just as a good parent watches over a child.

THE PROMISE OF CARE AND ATTENTION.

The promise in Psalms 34:15 is for care and attention. The source of the care and attention is the Lord and the recipient is the righteous. Just think about this for a moment and allow it to sink into the innermost parts of your being. The Lord promises us care and attention. Not only is He watching out for us, but as we cry out to Him, it moves His heart to help us in our need. We constantly have the attention of a loving and caring heavenly Father. He never sleeps. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is always present and He is always caring for us. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!

THE PROMISE IS FOR THE RIGHTEOUS.

This is a wonderful promise, but it is not given to all. It is given to only the righteous. This excluded me when I was found outside of Christ. You see, I have no righteousness. The Bible tells me that my righteousness is but "filthy rags." (Isaiah 64:6 NIV) "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away." My only hope is to put on the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

The moment I looked to the cross of Christ and believed that God loved me so much that He sent Jesus to take care of my sin problem and give me eternal life, saving faith rose up within me. Saving faith released God’s grace and I was saved from a life of sin and clothed in the righteousness of Christ. God’s Word says (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV) "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- {9} not by works, so that no one can boast."

The moment I believed, I was baptized into Christ by the Holy Spirit. I was regenerated by the Holy Spirit that God placed within me. I was born again as Jesus spoke about in the third chapter of the Gospel of John. My thinking changed. My heart changed. I began to love people as Christ loves people. And God justified me. He declared me righteous, not by anything that I did, but by what Christ did for me on the cross. I am now found in Christ and Christ is within me. I’ve been declared righteous in Christ and I know that God is watching over me and listening to my cries for help. When I cry out to God, it moves His heart and He cares for me. The Word of God declares this to be true and I believe it. Not only do I believe it, but I have experienced it. Outside of Christ I was on my own. In Christ, I am taken care of daily. God takes care of me! I give him praise and glory!

Friend, how about you? Are you found in Christ today? Have you humbly and willingly fallen at the foot of the cross and received Jesus as your Savior and made Him your Lord? Jesus loves you so much He gave His life for you so that you can have life. I encourage you to repent of all sin and fix your eyes on Jesus. Follow Him and He will take you on a wonderful journey from earth to Glory!

For the Beloved that are found in Christ, be encouraged today. (Psalms 34:15 NIV) "The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry". You are a part of the righteous in Christ. This promise is for you. God is watching over you. God is caring for you. When you cry out to Him, you move His heart and He responds. He loves you with a perfect love and nothing can ever separate you from His love. Nothing. Absolutely nothing!
