DEVOLOPING A NOW MENTALITY (Part 2)
THE ARGUMENT OF NOW
ROMANS 8
In part one of this series, we looked at the Anatomy of Now… We discovered that it was not God’s intention for us to live broke, busted, and disgusted down here on earth only to have wait to enjoy His riches and His Glory went we got to eternity… He wants us to have the Kingdom Living Mentality right now…! NOW: “at the present time or moment; without further delay; immediately; at once…” (Matt 6:10 Literal Translation) “Let your Kingdom manifest (show itself, become evident, be revealed) on earth, right here, right now…” And when we looked at the anatomy (analysis or examination) we discovered that the “N” in the word now dealt with (1) Your New Birth… (2) Your New Position… and (3) Your New Commitment…
So today I want to look at the second letter of the word ‘now’; “O…” Argument: “a process of reasoning; series of reasons; A statement, reason, or fact for or against a point…” (Text…) If you’re going to have a Kingdom Living Now Mentality, not only must you understand that it begins with… Your New Birth… Your New Position… Your New Commitment…
But likewise it you must understand that it comes…
I. BY DELIBERATE OBEDIENCE (Rom 8:1-13)
Why must my obedience be deliberate (intentional)…? Because of what happened in chapter 7…
1. I was redeemed from the law (purchased, bought
back) through Jesus (1-6)
2. I recognized my sin (identify from knowledge or
characteristics) through the law (7-12)
3. I realized (grasp, understand) that I got in trouble because of sin and not the law… IOW, Law = good/ Sin = bad (13-23)
4. Jesus rescues (frees, delivers) me form myself and my sinful nature (24-25)
And because of everything I went through and all that He’s done for me, my obedience must be deliberate (intentional)… (Chap 8)
- Excuses Are Eliminated (1-4)
- Intentions Are Exposed (5-8)
- Adherence Is Expected (9-13)
II. BY DIVINE ORCHESTRATION (Rom 8:14-36)
-Through His Procurement (14-20)
- Through His Protection (21-27)
- Through His Purpose (28-36)
III. BY DESTINED OVERCOMING (Rom 8:37-39)
- Because Your Are A Conqueror (37)
- Because You Are Convinced (38)
- Because You Are Connected (39)
