Summary: Part 9 of Colossions Series

Are you wearing the clothing of a follower of Christ?

Questions from Colossians

Col 3:12-25

I. Put on these qualities of Character.

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Col. 3:12-14 (NKJV)

II. Let the peace of Christ rule your hearts.

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Col. 3:15 (NLT)

III. Let the words of Christ dwell in your heart.

Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use his words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. Col. 3:16 (NLT)

IV. Let yourselves be representatives of Christ.

And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father. Col. 3:17 (NLT)

A. Wives, let the world see your submission to your

husband.

You wives must submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Col 3:18 NLT

B. Husbands, let the world see you loving your wives.

And you husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly. Col 3:19 NLT

C. Kids let the world see your obedience.

You children must always obey your parents, for this is what pleases the Lord. Col 3:20 NLT

D. Fathers, encourage your children

Fathers, don’t aggravate your children. If you do, they will become discouraged and quit trying. Col 3:21 NLT

E. Everyone, let the world see your love for Christ.

You slaves must obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Obey them willingly because of your reverent fear of the Lord. 23Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. 25But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites who can get away with evil. Col. 3:22-25 (NLT)
