Summary: A quick look at the word "Whosoever" and is application to our Salvation.

I am a Whosoever

John 3:13-21

Introduction;

Whosoever is used throughout the New Testament 93 times, and implies anyone and everyone. You are an anyone, I am an anyone, it is an all-inclusive term, and leaves no one out. Anyone and everyone that hears come, anyone and everyone that thirsts come, anyone and everyone that wants can take of the water of life freely. The Spirit and the bride are calling us, and saying come, but they won’t force us to drink. We are given a free will, but because we’re given a free will, we can choose to partake of life or we can choose to partake of death. If we make no choice at all, we have chosen death by default, because we have not chosen life. The ultimate responsibility is ours, and our future eternity will be a result of our decision. (Mark Baker)

WHOSOEVER is a Holy Spirit inspired word that embraces all and touches all.

It lays its hand upon every man and says, *You are included.*

>The world is made up of "whosoevers." By what stretch of the imagination can you exclude someone, for everyone is a whosoever.

>To exclude anyone is to do violence to the Word of God.

>The word “whosoever” means….any one, any person, who, so and everyone.

>That means that there is NOT a certain group of people that can and will be saved.

>This word means exactly what it says, ANYONE can be saved.

>No matter your background, what you have done, where you came from, what color you

are, who did what to you, what you did to your self, it doesn’t matter, Christ can save

all and has saved all that called upon His name.

>The old song goes something like this “Jesus paid it all, All to him I owe, sin had made

a crimson stain, and He washed it white as snow”

>He and He alone can take care of our sins. And He did.

Salvation works in three (3) steps, here they are…

1. Calling.

Romans 10:13

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

A. We must know who we are calling on…

>No one else can give you this Salvation, no one!

Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

>I am sorry if that messes up everything you have been taught, but there it is!

>Not by Mohammad, Not by Confucius, Not by Jim Jones, Not by Buddha, none of them

can get you to heaven, save Christ and Christ alone!

Isaiah 45:22

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

II Peter 1:10

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:

2. Believing

Romans 10:11

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

>The apostle here teaches that salvation is actually limited to those who believe.

I Timothy 4:10

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

>As all have been purchased by his blood so all may believe; and consequently all may

be saved. Those that perish, perish through their own fault.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth

Albert Barnes Commentary says…

This expresses the condition, or the terms, on which salvation is conferred through the gospel. It is not indiscriminately to all men, whatever may be their character. It is only to those who confide or trust in it.

James 2:23

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

In the O.T. it is called “Belief”

In the N.T. it is called “Faith”

What ever it may be, you better have it.

Matthew 16:13-17

Jesus asks the question to Simon Peter…

3. Confess

Luke 12:8

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

>Great is the reward of a constant confession: and horrible is the punishment for denying

Christ.

I John 1:9 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, if we do one thing He will do three (3) things.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Philippians 2:10-11

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 10:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Albert Barnes Commentary says

It denotes a public declaration or assent to that, here expressed by the words "with thy mouth." A profession of religion then denotes a public declaration of our agreement with what God has declared.

I ask you today have you confessed Jesus Christ?

Closing

Deuteronomy 28:1-8

If we do confess

Deuteronomy 28: 15-19

If we do not confess

>Some people like to say “I can not understand the Bible, it’s to hard to read”

Honey, you better understand this passage.

>I ask you again, have we made it known to a lost and dying world that we are saved by

the Blood of Jesus?
