II. Dealing With Sin

A. Prayer Filled Life (14-15) – Three Keys

1. Confidence

a) “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him…”

b) Confidence in God’s willingness to hear – 1 Peter 3:12

c) Confidence in God’s willingness to help – Hebrews 4:16

d) Confidence in God’s ability to make a difference – Philippians 4:6-7

2. Conditions

a) “…if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

b) In all that we do we are to seek the Lord’s will – James 4:15

c) Our prayer life is to be property motivated – James 4:3

d) Our prayer life is an extension of our life – James 5:16

e) Acceptable prayer come from holy prayers – 1 Timothy 2:8

B. Compassion Filled Life (16-17)

2. Characteristics of the Compassionate

b) From 2 Timothy 2:24-26 – Gentle, able to teach, patient, humble, knowledgeable,

c) From James 5:19-20 – Aware, courageous, concerned

C. Purity Filled Life (18)

1. The Master of Purity

a) Jesus knew no sin – 2 Corinthians 5:21

b) Jesus can make sin go away – Isaiah 1:18

c) Jesus can help when facing trouble – Hebrews 2:18

2. Mastering Purity
