There is always a Judas

Matt 26:14

Matt 26:14 14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Mark 14:43-49 44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 48 And Jesus answered and said unto them, are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?

49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

Judas of Iscariot a name that has been associated with betrayal and trouble and backs stabbing and deceitfulness. Judas whom Jesus chose himself, as one of his very own disciples, an apostle a priest a man of GOD.

Luke speaks of Judas in Acts 1:16 16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David space before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus Most people would like to jump on Judas and call him wicked and call him the lowest of the apostles today I am not going to jump on Judas filled a need at a time when the church needed leaders. The church had an empty office because one of its leaders had died a tragic death. And note, Judas had been a leader; he had held one of the highest positions, that of being treasurer for the Lord Himself. The thing about being Judas is that Jesus allowed him to hold the money Judas was Jesus’ treasurer. Everyone knows you don’t allow the person you don’t trust to hold the money…Judas will always be quick to criticize and talk about people.

When Mary anointed Jesus feet with the spikard oil it was Judas who jumped up and said why was not this oil sold for 300 pence and given to the poor. Judas will never attack you but he will attack those around you in your defense…Hypocrite— Betrayer— Apostate: there was the hypocritical, unbelieving disciple. This was Judas. A study of Judas’ character in these verses reveals what it is that often causes a disciple to become hypocritical and unbelieving.

1.Judas followed Jesus, but he criticized other believers. He was a professing believer, but when he disagreed with others, he criticized them. He criticized even those who had great devotion and love for the Lord. Mary was criticized and many of those who repented.

2.Mark pointed out that Judas was especially strong in his criticism. He says that Judas was indignant, growling, rebuking, scolding (Mark 14:4-5).Mark in 14-4-5says that Judas was indignant barking and rebuking Mary. Judas expressed concern for the ministry, but he had an ulterior motive. Again, imagine the scene. A bottle of perfume worth a whole year’s wage was being poured over the feet of Jesus. Common sense would seem to say, “Sell it. Use the money for the poor, the hungry and the homeless.” This is just what Judas did say. He questioned the act, what he considered a waste. After all, if Mary wished to anoint Jesus, she could have used a less expensive perfume. However, Judas’ motive was impure. The words “had the bag” mean that Judas was the treasurer of the small band of Jesus’ disciples (John 12:6).said that Judas was a thief However, he was a thief; he had been swindling some of the money. A gift of 300 denarii’s would have allowed him the chance to steal quite a sum. Deep within he was angry at the lost chance to enrich himself; he was angry at Mary, but even more he was angry at Jesus for allowing such wastefulness. Criticism is a sign the sign of a hypocrite and that person stands in the need of repentance because Galatians 6-3Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Judas was confused like a lot of people who first come to church Nevertheless,

Despite all the opportunities, Judas’ life was a terrible tragedy. He was so gifted and had so much opportunity, yet he lost it all. Why? Simply because he turned his back on the

Lord Jesus Christ. He went to “the chief priests” of this earth and put his fate into their hands instead of placing his life into the hands of Christ. He had allowed his craving for more and more to blind him to the truth about Christ…But this Morning I want to encourage some one Don’t let you Judas stop you Judas will complain and complain He will try to stop you at every corner and turn. I know why Jesus did not get mad at Judas Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray him but Jesus also knew that Judas would be

The one to lead the roman soldiers to him. Sometimes you try and you try to help some people and they never seem to figure it out. They are blinded by their own jealousy and self driven ambition. I tell you this morning you don’t have to worry about Judas God has put your Judas in your life for your glory. Paul said and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. I can tell you with a straight face don’t be worried about your Judas this morning.

Judas represents your biggest trails and your hardest problems Judas will always show his face a snake can hide in the grass he can even hide in the water he can hide in the rocks but before he strikes he will have to rear his head. He cannot strike without revealing himself whenever you see Judas coming you need to start shouting you need to start praising God see let me tell you why Jesus knew who Judas was and he knew what Judas was about but he also knew that he was going to go into the garden of Eden and he asked Lord if it be your will let this cup pass from me. Jesus had a moment you know some of us have a moment God tells us what to do or gives us an assignment and it Looks to hard and we try to find a short cut or we avoid it all together. Jesus went into the Garden of Gethsemane and he started thinking Lord I would rather be back home Lord I would rather be sitting at your right hand he asked his disciples could you would you watch over me while I pray Jesus started praying and he started talking to God like most of us when we face our dark hours we tend to pray a little longer we tend to shout a little harder we tend to give a little less and depend on God a little less.Jesus after he had prayed the third time came back to his disciples the scripture says that And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough,The, hour is come; behold; the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Mark 14:41-42 42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. The bible says Immediately, while Jesus spake Judas came and Judas said whomever I kiss that is he….take him and lead him away safely now I’m not mad at Judas this morning because let us examine what happened Jesus was on his knees talking to his father and I know God loves him but if it had not been Judas the story might be different Jesus might have went back home well what are you saying preacher I know I lost somebody but listen Judas will Always push you into your destiny he will always push you into your greatness let them keep telling you what you are not and you just keep proving them wrong let them keep telling you what you can and can’t do and you just keep proving them wrong.God will use your haters and trouble makers to make you strong. Jesus went to pray when his Judas was near.

Judas will make you pray and. God will hear and answer your prayer. Your back biters will make you better. Your enemies to elevate you .

David had a Judas as a matter of fact he had two Judas’ if it had not been for goliath David would still be in the hills watching the sheep If it had not been for Saul trying to kill David. Then David might not have become a great King. Moses had a Judas. Judas will always push you into AND toward your destiny. If it had not been for Moses running from Egypt he might never have run into God.

He might not have ever met his Judas. Moses said Pharaoh, Pharaoh God said let my people go.Pharoah was Moses Judas pharaoh pushed Moses into his greatness. Joshua had a Judas his Judas was Jericho I hear the spirit of the Lord saying I will never leave you nor forsake you Samson depended on his hair to much he had a Judas.

Delilah was his Judas had she not cut his hair he would not have been tied to the two pillars and calling on GOD. Jeremiah the weeping Prophet had a Judas yeah, yeah his Judas was named Pashur don’t be afraid at your Judas when you see him coming just shout because something great is about to happen. Amazing grace Lord how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I’m found David went out to pray he said.

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear though war should rise against me in this will I be confident.

4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,. To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Somebody say yeah say yeah ain’t the man alright ain’t the man alright somebody here you are to close to give up now to close to your miracle. To close to your deliverance to close to close say yeah Amen.
