Jesus is the second person in the Godhead

Although the word “trinity” is no where to be found in the Bible, it describes a powerful truth about the nature and personality of God. The trinity depicts the Godhead that operates in three personalities yet one.

1 John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Godhead comprises God the Father, God the Son (the word made flesh, our Lord Jesus) and God the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit).

Jesus is the third person revealed but the second person of the Trinity to be known by us. He is not the second person in rank in the Godhead. There is no competition in the Godhead. When you pray to the Father, you are praying to the Son and the Holy Ghost. When you worship Jesus, you are worshipping the Father and the Holy Spirit. When you call upon the Holy Ghost, you are calling upon the God the Father and the Son. God the Father is God, God the Son is God, and God the Holy Ghost is God. There are not 2 or 3 gods, there is but ONE God and His name is JESUS.

Deuteronomy 6:4

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
