This is the day that the Lord hath made, I hope you’re rejoicing and being glad in it. Today is a beautiful day for fishing, golfing, tennis, and don’t forget praising the Lord for his greatness. The
heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.(Psalm 19:1). Somebody’s even gonna catch up on some football, but don’t forget to catch up on Jesus... Just take a moment and look around and just give thanks (Psalm 100:4).
I. Can you give me a reason to praise him? Let YOU consider
Hebrews 12:1-2 (1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.)
a. We should realize that WE ALL are surrounded by witnesses
b. Some of these witnesses or beings are and will be distractions
c. Yet while we are running or going in perseverance fix our eyes or focus on Him and we can’t see the witnesses, beings, or distractions, we only see Jesus..
d. But thanks be to GOD for loving us so Much yet while we were sinners Christ died for us.
Let us praise him for this mighty act.
II. When should I praise him? Observe Psalm 100:4 (Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.)
a. Gates are usually an outer barrier for security and provides an area of safety
b. The courts is usually an area for fellowship, commerce or trade,
c. He has provided an area of personal safety, an area for fellowship, and poured out a blessing.
We should praise him Coming and Going. Coming into his gates and going into the cities..
III. Where can I praise him? Observe Psalm 150:1-6
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
a. When we come together in the House of the Lord we should praise him
b. When we are gathered in the hills, valley or even in outer space..praise him
c. With our talents, gifts, and in celebrations.. WE should praise him
With as much as pomp and circumstance, without regard of our esteem, anything living, man, woman, boy, girl, saved and unsaved.. Every Living breathing creation Should Praise the Lord.
In summary, consider praising him for his mighty acts, consider praising him coming and going, and finally let every thing that have breath consider praising the Lord.. In conclusion, Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall continually be in my mouth!!
