The Always Present God

This Morning I feel that the Lord wants me to reaffirm to you that He is an omnipresent God.
Psalm 46:1-11 NIV
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most high.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
There is a Mariah Carey song called “I’ll be there”
The words say, “I’ll be there to comfort you, I’ll be there to protect you, I’ll be your strength to help you keep holding on.”
Although a love song, it is a song to reassure of ones affirmation to provide strength and hope.
Can I remind you this morning that the word of God contains the reminder of God’s unfailing love for man.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world.”
This word also provides strength, courage, and hope for life’s circumstances.
The Psalmist reminds us this morning that God is our refuge very present when we need Him Most.
REFUGE – A place of protection, a sanctuary, or an anchor.
SONG – (DVD) THE ANCHOR HOLDS
I have been salt water fishing many times, and in doing so you come to understand the importance of an anchor.
An anchor cannot be of any use unless it is there.
I want to remind you this morning that God is an anchor, a refuge, a present help, He is omnipresent.
In all places at all times.
God is an infinite Spirit that fills all places excluding no place.
Unlike God, Satan needs to travel to get somewhere.
But God is everywhere without division, multiplication, addition or subtraction.
God never needs to move to get anywhere, because every place is immediately in God’s presence.
There is no place that God does not exist.
God is very present in heaven and earth and He is not restricted by either.
To say that God is Omnipresent, we mean that God in the totality of His essence completely fills the universe.
This is a quality that solely belongs to God.
No place is without God.
God is not only present on the outside, but He is present on the inside.
God is present at every hospital, every nursing home, every prison cell and intensive care unit world over.
• God told Moses, My presence shall go with you.
• We see God’s presence in the tabernacle.
• In 1 Chronicles 16, we see the trees of the woods singing out in the presence of the Lord.
• In Psalm 51, even after sin, we see God’s presence still with David.
• In Psalm 139, David said, where could I go from your presence? You are everywhere.
It is comforting to know that all of my troubles are immediately in God presence.
It does not matter what your circumstance is, God is with you.
The closer anything get to the SUN, the quicker it breaks up, but the closer my trouble get to the SON the quicker He breaks them up.
• Being that He is Omnisciencent – God knows what to do.
• Being that He is Omnipotent - God has power to do what needs to be done.
• Being that He is Omnipresent – God is always where-ever he needs to be to do whatever needs to be done.
God is present in the best and the worst moments of life.
Man can ignore God but no one can avoid Him.
Everywhere we go, we will run into Him.
A local God could not be God.
I do not have to go into the mountain to call Him down nor do I have to go down in the valley to call Him up.
Everything is immediately in His presence.
Nothing and no one is beyond His All-Seeing eye.
No sparrow can fall beyond His view.
• He saw Moses on the back-side of a mountain.
• He saw Hagar in the wilderness.
• He saw Daniel in the Lion’s Den.
• He saw Israel enslaved in Egypt.
We cannot confine God to our feeble minds; or He would not big enough for our needs.
If God is everywhere, it means that He is present with you today.
God was at this church-house before you arrived.
He knew what you would be facing even before you did.
People are like moving ships that pass by; but God is like a ship that moves without passing by.
No matter what you face, God is at your side.
Sickness can quarantine us from people but nothing can keep our God from us.
The Songs says;
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place….
God is not hiding from us, He doesn’t need to be found; He simply needs to be received.
The righteous does not have to pray for God’s presence, they need to pray for a cognoscente of His presence.
He is present, in all places and at all times.
• God is in heaven as a rewarder.
• He is in hell as a reminder.
• He is in the Bible as revealer.
• God is in the hospital as a restorer.
• God is with the lost as a redeemer.
• God is with those who are in trouble as a rescuer.
• God is with those who have questions as a revelator.
• God is with those who are broken down as a rebuilder.
• God is with the down-trodden as a renewer.
He’s everywhere I am, He is everywhere I shall be, and He is everywhere I could be.
As David wrote this Psalm human elements came in, fear, troubled waters, earthquakes.
They were REAL elements that we really face, but let us not forget his next words, “God is in the midst of her.
Amidst the fear, amidst the waters, amidst the earth moving, amidst the rage, GOD UTTERED HIS VOICE.
PEACE BE STILL.
Peace, Peace, wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above.
God is omnipresent, He is here right now.
