Summary: Fear not only makes us afraid to die, but to live too. Jesus helps us break through the fear to live the ultimate life.

WMD’s – A Spiritual War

INTRO VIP

Warfare – 1. the process of military struggle between two nations or groups of nations; war. 2. armed conflict between two massed enemies, armies, or the like.

We are in a spiritual battle:

John 10:10 (English Standard Version)

10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

To Steal: to steal is to invade, seize, and carry away another’s property. But the devil can only do it if he can steal our heart away. Our loyalty and Love from God and turn it to things.

To Kill and Destroy: means to kill as a sacrificial victim, as by fire; offered in a sacrifice. And he accomplishes this through false doctrine. This eats like a cancer, and poison the minds of men.

The Box…

2 Corinthians 10:3 (King James Version)

3For though we walk (occupy the flesh) in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Faith is what arms our weapons.

Hebrews 11:32-34 (English Standard Version)

32 And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

Faith goes beyond rational thinking.

If we don’t have faith then we cannot access or weapons.

Faith without works is dead

Jesus is our ultimate weapon.

2. You can’t treat Jesus like an accessory.

Some people treat Christianity and Jesus like it’s just another option…

Acts 19:13-20 (English Standard Version)

Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, "I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims." 14Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. 15But the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?" 16And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled. 18Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. 19And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.

3. We are more than conquerors.

Fear not only makes us afraid to die, but to live too.

We can’t be bound by fear.

Romans 8:37-39 (King James Version)

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

4. We are more than conquerors because Jesus has all the authority.

Philippians 2:9-11 (King James Version)

9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

on’-om-ah - authority

10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

But our lack of faith and obedience disarms His authority in our lives…

For the authority of Christ to be operational in our lives…Jesus needs to be 1st in all ways…

Many people think that:

• Their family should come first.

• Their job should come first.

• Their financial needs should come first.

Don’t complain to God if you have strife in your home

Don’t complain to God if the man’s got you down

Don’t complain to God if your job is taking you no where

Don’t complain to God is you don’t have enough money to make ends meet…

Because if we didn’t put God first in we life, we have given Him notice that we don’t need him nor do we…

We don’t have enough…because we are not putting Christ first

Lamentations 3:22-24 (New Living Translation)

22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends![a]

His mercies never cease.

23 Great is his faithfulness;

his mercies begin afresh each morning.

24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;

therefore, I will hope in him!”

If He’s not first then He is not your Lord

5. Through Jesus our not enough becomes more than enough.

Philippians 4:19

But my God shall supply all your need (lack) according to his riches wealth (as fulness), i.e. (literally) money, possessions, or (figuratively) abundance, richness, in glory by Christ Jesus. for the sake of Christ Jesus

John 1:1-3 (New International Version)

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.

3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

6. Healing takes place in the name of Jesus

Colossians 3:17

John 14:12-15 (King James Version)

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Revelation 3:8

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Ephesians 6:11-13 (King James Version)

11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Romans 8:37-39 (King James Version)

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
