Summary: Appreciating the fact that we are born for success

The Leader¡¦s Philosophy

(I’m Born for Success)

Is. 40:1-5

The responsibility of leadership is often viewed as difficult.

It is common to hear leaders complain about how difficult their job is.

The expression "it ain’t easy" overweighs "it is well" or "it can be done".

Many look at leadership as being in a wilderness or a desert.

A wilderness is likened to the place where there is no obvious way in sight.

In essence, it indicates being lost or having no answers or direction.

A desert indicates a place where there is no river or mass of water; where this water is considered or likened to the source or channel of life.

Hence, flourishing in a desert is not a common phenomenon.

This kind of leadership mindset will produce no results.

It is laden with a defeatist mentality.

It is the mindset or philosophy of those who always glorify how difficult or hard their responsibility is. E.g. "New York is such a hard place to minister in" etc.

A new mindset or philosophy is needed - Rom. 12:1-2, 6:17.

Our mindset is a reflection of the philosophy we hold dear.

How do you view your work as a leader?

Our leadership responsibility is a command from God.

This command can and must be obeyed - Jn. 16:15-16; 1 Jn. 3:20-22.

It is a mindset that see that God’s commandments as not being grievous - 1 Jn. 5:1-3.

This new mindset involves seeing that which God has done and is doing for us as we prepare for His "coming".

Leaders are to prepare the people for the "coming" of the Lord.

The "coming" of the Lord in this context means;

The manifestation of His presence, His glory, His power and generally His works - Is. 40:5.

Their breakthrough is tied to the Lord’s "coming".

The "coming" of the Lord reflects the manifestation of what He is doing or has promised

This means they must know how to connect with it.

What is God doing? What has He promised to do?

All things will work together for our good - Rom. 8:28.

He’ll make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert - Is. 43:19.

How do we connect with this?

Believers cannot connect with it unless, the leaders give God their voice.

God’s works towards us cannot be perceived until we give Him our voice.

Remember, Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones - Eze. 37:1-7.

He had to prophesy to the bones (the negative circumstances and conditions around you) before God moved.

Prophecy can be summarized as giving your voice to God’s word.

God needs a voice in the wilderness to prepare His way.

Can you be that voice?

This voice speaks comfortably to Zion (Jerusalem)- Is. 40:1-2.

This voice is to call things that be not as though they were - Rom. 4:17-21.

This voice is actually a voicing of the word of God - Ps. 103:19-20.

It is what enables Angels to work on our behalf.

The voice declares in Is. 40:1-5.

Every valley will be lifted

Every mountain and hill will be made low

Every rough path will be made plain

Every crooked will be made straight

The glory of the Lord shall be revealed.

This voice outlines the basic philosophy of all successful leaders - Zech. 4:6.

Remember only God can make for a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert - Is. 43:19; 1 Cor. 10:13; Ps. 34:19; Ps. 119:92.

He cannot do it unless He "comes" into the place.

In essence a leader must prepare the way for God’s coming by speaking His Will/Word rather than glorifying negative circumstances.

You’re not even allowed to speak words from "your own heart" - Jer. 23:16.

You cannot succeed unless you have this philosophy or mindset.

This is what makes you boldly declare; "I’M BORN FOR SUCCESS".

"We are making progress daily".

"My people are advancing steadily".

"God is for me, He is with me and He is in me" - Rom. 8:31; Mk. 16: 19-20; Matt. 28:18-20; 1 Jn. 4:4.

"Nothing can stop me from succeeding" - Is. 54:17.

Failure is not an option;

I’m born of Love, so I will succeed in Jesus’ name".
