August 10, 2008 Sunday Morning

Heart O’ the Hills

Introduction

Scripture

4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Prayer

The darkness can never extinguish the LIGHT!

Jesus Christ is the very fiber of life, the creator of life.

Our very existence is a witness of God.

God is the light of men.

Without the light there is darkness.

The Bible tells us that because of mans sin that he is born in darkness.

As we know the darkness is always used to refer to that which is not of God, therefore if it is not of God, then it is of this world.

Therefore, Satan controls this world and that makes every person that has not received Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior, a child of Satan.

Darkness Justifies Sin.

Changes the name, says it’s ok, but God never changes nor does His Word and what was sin 6,000 years ago is still sin today.

Every Christian can have their spiritual life dimmed by the darkness of this world, when they get away from the Word of God.

We become a prime target for that spiritual darkness to haunt our lives.

We are the vessel that holds the light of God.

We are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see the good works of God and glorify his name.

People are in one or the other states Darkness or Light.

Light Exposes Sin

John 1:5

5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Our witness shines into a world of darkness.

The world does not understand God.

The world cannot comprehend the very Word of God.

It is our responsibility to convey that Word to a world of darkness.
