Summary: Let’s talk about Jesus. We need to talk about what God has done in the Word and what He has done personally for us. The world is looking for something active and alive. We have what they need so lets talk about Him. I cannot be ashamed of what God is doin

Let’s Talk About Jesus

Psalm 77:11-14

1 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

Verse 11 says, “I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old”.

The works of the Lord pertain to the things the Lord has done in one’s life.

These things are to be remembered and accounted.

Sometimes, we as Christians, think of the works of God as a work of yesterday.

What we need to remember is that what God has done, He can do today.

How do we get to the place where we really believe that God still can?

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

If Jesus is the same yesterday, and today, and forever, then how do we come to a place where we realize that God can do something in our lives?

First of all, I need to have an understanding of what faith is.

Hebrews 11:1

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

According to Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

What have you heard this morning?

Have you heard that what has been revealed to you, is a promise as long as you do what the Word says to do.

Deuteronomy 29:29

29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

What has been revealed to you when you read the Word of God?

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Do you know someone who is poor, how about someone who is broken- hearted?

Do you know someone who is being held captive and needs deliverance?

Do you know someone who is blind or someone who needs liberty in their walks?

The Spirit of the Lord is upon you because Jesus is in you.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever

Let’s talk about Jesus this morning, what has He done in your lives?

He took me; I was a drunk in a bar, about ready to get a divorce. I was bound to alcohol.

Jesus came to set the captive free and that is what He did in my life, He set me free.

No longer am I in bondage to the bottle, but now I am committed to Jesus.

I am no longer Hell-bound but I am Heaven-bound. Instead of being in bondage to sin, I am now committed to Christ.

I am now not my own, but I am the Property of Jesus Christ.

I am connected from the inside out.

Psalm 77:12

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

Not only are we to remember what the Lord has done, but we should meditate on it.

And then, at every chance we get, we are to talk about God’s doings, if we talk of God’s doings, then we cannot talk of doubt and unbelief.

God’s Word and His ways are timeless; God is still the same this morning.

1. We need to remember His ancient works and those done personally for us.

2. We need to meditate of His great works.

3. We need to talk of His great works.

We know that Jesus cast demons out of people.

We know that He healed the sick; we know that He did many miraculous feats.

We know that He raised the dead.

We know that He died on the cross for our sins; we know that He overcame death; He overcame Hell and the grave.

We know that Jesus called ordinary men to be His Disciples.

Psalm 77:13

13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

The Sanctuary is a place of worship; it is a place of separation from the world.

Who is so great a God as our God?

Psalm 77:14

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

The strength of God is gained by the believer, evidencing faith in Christ and what Christ has done at the cross.

I’ve entitled this today;

Let’s talk about Jesus and here is the reason why:

Dream 10-17-08

I dreamed that I was talking to my brother, who is a Pastor about my Jesus dreams. I told him that I have already had at least 4 dreams about Jesus this year. He asked me if I have ever heard anything. I told Him that I have heard my name called through the wind, the Holy Ghost wind. He was amazed.

Interpretation

Psalm 77:12

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

I cannot be ashamed of what God is doing in my life, and I have to be willing to talk about these things.

Habakkuk 2:1-4

1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”

This is our time to take our stand, to watch and see what He will say to us.

There are times I will be corrected; I believe God is getting ready to do a great work at our church.

I do write down the dreams that God gives me, and I am not ashamed to speak whatever He might speak, to other people.

I am not ashamed of the dreams that God has given me about Jesus, and I will declare them.

We need to train the generation coming up to know that God is still God.

Psalm 78:6-8

Ps 78:6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

Psalm 77:14

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

We are a Pentecostal church and we do believe in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

We also believe in what Joel prophesied and what Peter preached about.

Acts 2:17-18

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

I believe in God - given dreams and visions and God - given Prophesy.

That’s what the Word tells me is happening right now.

Acts 2:14-16

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

I am not drunk as some might think, I am not nuts as some might believe, but this is that!

Let’s talk about Jesus this morning, let’s talk of all that He has done in our lives.

Think about what He has done in your life, think of the things that have been revealed to you and let others know.

Closing

According to Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

Let’s sing the song:

Let’s Talk about Jesus

1 Peter 1:13-14 N.A.S.

13. Therefore prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

14. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lust which were yours in your ignorance.
