“Submission Starts at Home”

I. THE CONDUCT OF SUBMISSION (vs. 1-2)

A. You should submit to your “own” husband

B. You should understand that your act of submission could lead to the unsaved husband’s salvation.

C. When you treat your husband with respect, and you are pure in your motives, you will be a great witness to your spouse.

II. THE COSTUME OF SUBMISSION (vs. 3-6)

A. It is okay to fix your hair, wear make up, and wear jewelry.

B. Here is a question; do you spend as much time on the inner person as you do the outer person?

C. Dress up the inner person this way:

1. Gentle spirit

2. Quiet spirit

3. Inner beauty (Prov. 31:30)

D. You should adorn the outer person as it please your spouse

E. There should be a mutual respect that is earned

III. THE COOPERATION OF SUBMISSION (vs. 7)

A. We husbands should dwell with our wives with understanding

B. We husbands should honor our wives, and cherish them as a precious china cup.

C. We should be united with our wives, we are heirs of eternal life

D. We should honor and respect our wives unless we want our prayers hindered.
