JEREMIAH 13:1-11
JEREMIAH WAS ASKED TO DO SOME HARD THINGS.
AS A RESLUT HE FOUND HIMSELF WANTING TO QUIT.
LIKE MUST OF US TODAY TIMES GET HARD WE WANT TO QUIT.
LET’S LOOK AT SOME REASONS WHY HE WANTED TO QUIT THE MINISTRY. HE WANTED TO GIVE UP ON GOD, & GO BACK TO THE WORLD. I’M TALKING BACK TO THE HOG PEN, & GO BACK TO HIS VOMIT.
JERMEMIAH THE WEEPING PROPHET WANTED TO QUIT ON GOD. (HEY, YOU DO THE SAME WITH LESS THAN HE WENT THROUGH)
LET’S SEE HE WAS MOCKED ALL THE TIME (MAYBE WE CAN REALATE TO THAT)
HE SUFFERED MUCH PERSCUTION (THIS IS ALWAYS PART OF THE MINISTRY)
FROM WHERE WAS THIS COMING:
1.FAMILY MEMBERS:
Jeremiah 12:6 For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
MAY I SAY IN LOVE THEY WILL BE THE FIRST.
THE FIRST TO FORSAKE YOU IS YOUR OWN FAMILY
2.BY HIS OWN TOWNSMAN:

3.HE WAS ARRESTED & FLOGGED: (BEATEN)
Jeremiah 37:11-16
THE STORY HERE-THE CHALDENAS HAVE TAKEN JERUSALEM
THE ARMY OF EGYPT WAS COMING TO HELP JERSUSALEM
THE CALDENAS GOT WORD OF THIS & IN FEAR LEFT
ONE PROBLEM GOD HAD A PLAN JERUSALEM STILL HAD TO BE PUNISHED FOR THEIR SINS
SO THE CHALDEANS LEFT IN FEAR BUT THE WOUNDED LEFT BEHIND GOD SAID IN
Jeremiah 37:10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
SO WE FIND IN JEREMIAH 37:13 THAT JERMEMIAH WAS AT THE GATE Of THE CITY THE CAPTAIN OF THE WARD SAW HIM. THOUGHT HE WAS TRYING TO LEAVE AND JOIN UP WITH THE CHALDEANS WHO FLED.
JEREMIAH TELLS HIM IN VERSE 14 “IT IS FALSE; I FALL NOT AWAY TO THE CHALDEANS
BUT HE HARKENED NOT TO JEREMIAH. HE WAS TAKEN BEFORE THE PRINCES AND THEY WELL LET’S SEE IN
Jeremiah 37:15-16 Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison. When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
4.HE WAS WHIPPED & PUT IN STOCKS:
Jeremiah 20:2 Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.
5.HE WAS ALMOST MURDED BY A ANGRY MOB:
Jeremiah 26:8 Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
6.HE WAS REDCULED BY A FALSE PROPHET
HE WAS PLACED IN THE DUNGEON (THE PIT):
Jeremiah 38:6 Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.
MIRE IS SOGGY GROUND, DEEP MUD, & SLUSH. THIS WAS SO BAD THAT IT STANK
JUST THINK THIS IS WHERE HE HAD TO SLEEP, EAT, & GO TO THE BATHROOM. HE HAD T0 WASH & BATH HIMSELF IN THIS MESS. HE SAT IN IT, STOOD IN IT, & WALKED IN IT.
JEREMIAH WAS DISCOURGED. HE WANTED TO QUIT & THROW IN THE TOWEL. AS WE WOULD SAY IN TEXAS HANG UP HIS SPURS. IN ENGLISH STOP PREACHING THE WORD OF GOD.
WHO COULD BLAME HIM
AFTER ALL LOOK WHAT HE WENT THRU IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
Jeremiah 20:9A Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. KEEP IN MIND WHAT THE LORD JESUS ALSO SUFFERED. MAY I SAY BY FAR MORE THAN THIS
IF YOU ARE TRULY A PERSON OF GOD YOU WILL GO ON.
JEREMIAH IS SAYING I QUIT!!!!!!
NO MORE SOUL WINNING
NO MORE TEACHING
NO MORE PREACHING
NO MORE SERVING

BUT WAIT AS HE THOUGHT TO HIMSELF
“SELF I CAN’T QUIT”
“IT’S LIKE A BURNING FIRE IN MY SOUL”
“IT IS THE VERY THING THAT MOVES ME”
“I CAN’T HOLD IT BACK”
WHEN I TRY NOT TO WITNESS IT COMES OUT
WHEN I TRY NOT TO PREACH IT POURS OUT
WHEN I TRY NOT TO TEACH IT SPILLS OUT
WHEN I TRY NOT TO SERVE I ROLL ON
I’M HERE TO TELL YOU IF GOD CALLS YOU. IF ITS A TRUE CALLING YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAND BEING OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD LIKE JEREMIAH
Jeremiah 20:9B But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones,and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
THERE IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THE CALLING OF GOD
TIMES I FEEL LIKE GUITTING
WHY TEACH THE YOUNG PEOPLE ANY MORE? THEY DON’T WANT TO LISTEN.
BUT I DO IT IN HOPES OF JUST ONE GETTING ON FIRE
WHY GO SOUL WINNING? PEOPLE DON’T LISTEN ANY MORE BUT I GO ON TO THE DOOR (SOMEONE IS WAITHING TO HEAR) MAYBE THIS IS THE DOOR?
WHY ASK PEOPLE TO CHURCH. THEY WON’T COME. TRY ANY HOW (HOW IS YOUR LIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM)
(MAYBE YOU’RE THE PROBLEM- NOT THEM)
WHY READ THE BIBLE? I DON’T UNDERSTAND IT. JUST MAYBE SIN IS IN YOUR LIFE. GOD WILL SHOW HIS MESSAGE TO YOU

WHY PRAY? HE DOESN’T LISTEN. TRYING PRASING HIM 1ST. THEN CLEAN UP YOU’RE LIFE. THEN SIT BACK & WAIT.
YE HAVE NOT BECAUSE YE ASK NOT
I SAY TO YOU THAT ARE THINKING ABOUT QUITTING DON’T
LET IT BURN
WHAT DID GOD ASK OF JEREMIAH?
GET A GIRDLE- PUT IT ON- WEAR IT- & DON’T WASH IT
GOD ASKED TO TAKE IT TO THE EUPHRATES RIVER (STILL WEARING IT) 500 MILE AWAY FROM WHERE HE WAS
HE WAS TO THEN TO TAKE IT OFF & HIDE IT UNDER A ROCK IN A HOLE
GO BACK HOME 500 MILES
THEN GOD ASKED HIS TO GO BACK TO GET THE GIRDLE 500 MILES
BE REMINDED NO CAR, NO PLANE, NO BOAT. IT HAD TO TAKE A GOOD WHILE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.
HE FOUND IT EVEN MORE DIRTY, MIRE MARRED, STICKY, & STINKY, GOOD FOR NOTHING GIRDLE
PROFITABLE FOR NOTHING
THEN WAS ASK TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE PEOPLE (500 MILES) THEN WARN THEM THEY ARE IN THIS DANGER (THOSE WHO BEAT HIM, THOSE WHO PUT HIN INTO PRISION, & EVEN TRY TO KILL HIM)
GO WARN THEM.
THREE THINGS ABOUT THIS DIRTY GIRDLE
GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER BOYS
WHAT IS A DIRTY GIRDLE:
ARE WE LETTING OUR MIND GET THE BEST OF YOU?
FELLOWS IT IS NOT THE TYPE OF GIRDLE THAT WOMAN WEAR THE PLATEX
IT WAS A GIRDLE THAT MEN WORE BACK IN BIBLE DAYS
GOD HAS A POINT TO GET ACROSS ABOUT HIS MATTER
THIS DIRTY GIRDLE ANY ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD GET RID OF IT.
I MEAN IT HAS NO USE NOW IT’S STINKY, FIFLTY, DIRTY, SLIMY WHO WILL WEAR IT
WHAT IS GOD TRYING TO SAY THRU ALL THIS.

THIS GIRDLE GOOD FOR NOTHING & SO IS THE SIN OF JUDAH

“the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.”
VS 10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing. For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

BE FAITHFUL IN CHURCH (YOU GET FED HERE)
SURRENDER TO GOD’S WILL TOTALLY

TITHE & GIVE TO MISSIONS
WHY DOES THIS HELP? IT IS CALLED INVESTMENT! YOU WILL WANT TO STICK AROUND & SEE HOW YOUR INVESTMENT IS GOING
ALL THESE THINGS THE BIBLE TEACHES US TO DO
WE NEED TO BE A LOVING PEOPLE. LOVE COMES BACK, & IT WAS LOVE THAT SENT JESUS TO THE CROSS.
WE NEED TO FORGIVING PEOPLE. GOD FORGAVE US FOR SENDING HIS SON TO HELL
WE NEED TO BE A PRAYING PEOPLE. WE ARE TOLD TO LIFT EACH OTHER IN PRAYER DAILY
WE TO BE UNIFIED AS A CHURCH. DIVISION IS OF THE DEVIL
FOLKS IT’S TIME FOR US TO DECIDE NOW
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
