Summary: We serve a God that is unlimited. He does not have any limits, except when we limit Him because of our unbelieve.

UNLIMITED GOD

WE SHOULD NOT LIMIT GOD

Most people do not realize the power of WORDS. When I speak about things, circumstances and even my city, do I realize that I am actually laying a foundation for my life and surroundings?

Words are spirit vehicles. When you drive past a great Watermill in Rondebosch, Cape Town or even in the Great Karoo when you see a windmill – you see the instrument that actually are tapping in the wind that was there for ages but now are being harvested for good. It is being used into an essential power source. My friend Francois du Toit said on his website www.mirrorreflection.net “Whenever a windmill is erected, wind that remained untapped for ages can now be harvested and harnessed into an essential power source.

We have discovered and mastered the technology of transmission and reception. Today the airwaves are bursting with intelligent information in full colour. It all remains invisible and inaudible until a receiver is tuned to a specific frequency.

The ear is designed to hear the voice of its Maker; ’Whoever has an ear to hear let him hear.’ God’s eternal voice has found an expression in the incarnation to be known and read by all men.”

Wow – we are living and sitting between words and ideas flying around us and they are able with the right decoder to be forming our world.

That is why the scripture says:

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:8 (NKJV)

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

You our faith world is sustained what we hear or do not hear. What we believe comes to us. It is delivered in paper back, electronic format, by sms (text messages), by television and billboards, it is broadcast on the airwaves and we hear it from our colleagues.

Words deceive us. Words transmit. The very words that we HEAR or SPEAK will transmit FAITH or FEAR. So we speak about SPOKEN WORDS – we are speaking about things that are powerful.

Words are the very vehicles that will transport our fears or faith. The WORD of GOD is clear – it has the abilty to give life or to poison. You choose.

Proverbs 18:21 (The Message)

21 Words kill, words give life;

they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

1) WORDS

So we know that we were created in God’s likeness. God spoke and He created the World. We create our own world by speaking or ALLOWING certain things to be SPOKEN in our EARS that form our WORLD

EX: Potchefstroom – how pastors told me that the type of people I am ministering do not live in Potch. The rector even told me at a meeting that the university are now going for quality and not quantity “ So pastor I do not think you are going to grow with more of your people”

So what did we do? I felt bad and wanted to leave the city. I was discouraged because I was not an amazing, anointed and appointed man of God for the hour of power… No my name is Willem, I attended 6 schools. Took forever to finish my degree. Who am I. My wife did not even like my preaching. I had good sermons after conferences…That is what I believed and what I told other people in private. But that was what was in my heart and that limited God. So my faith journey ladies and gentlemen was super. Super slow.

So what happened – well I am from Africa so we are sometimes stubborn. So we said then let us call those people into our city. Week after week we started to bless the university. From 650 fresh men it became 1200, then 1800 then 2400 then 3500 and now between 4300 and 4500. So every year our university has grown. Now there are over 20000 students. The same with our city. We called people week after week into our city.

WHY?

Hebrews 3:1 (NKJV)

3 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Life and death is in your tongue.

So our words can limit GOD.

BACKGROUND (IF TIME READ)

Hebrews 3:7-14 (NKJV)

7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you will hear His voice,

8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,

In the day of trial in the wilderness,

9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,

And saw My works forty years.

10 Therefore I was angry with that generation,

And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,

And they have not known My ways.’

11 So I swore in My wrath,

‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,

Hebrews 3:19 (NKJV)

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

2) GOD IS UNLIMITED

PSALM 78:40-43 NEW KING JAMES VERSION.

40 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness,

And grieved Him in the desert!

41 Yes, again and again they tempted God,

And limited the Holy One of Israel.

42 They did not remember His power:

The day when He redeemed them from the enemy,

43 When He worked His signs in Egypt,

And His wonders in the field of Zoan;

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. The King James Version, 1769.

41 Again and again they turned away and tempted God to kill them, and limited the Holy One of Israel from giving them his blessings The Living Bible, 1997.

To limit God means to stop Him and to not allow Him to rescue you!

To Limit God means that you are not accepting His Mercy

There is a thin line between unbelief and being realistic. To be realistic means that you are not always seeing God’s Picture and God’s Idea on this

COL 3 So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things his perspective.

3) NETS OR A NET

LUKE 5:1-7

So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets.3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. The Holy Bible, New King James Version, 1982.

When we do not take God on His word we will limit Him in what He wants to do!

4) YOU ONLY RECIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE

LUKE 6:37-38

37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”The Holy Bible, New King James Version, 1982.

You only receive what you believe

What you believe and trust God in is what you will receive.

MUSTARD SEED FAITH (SHOW THEM)

The only thing what we have in our lives are a credit limit. Nobody has a deposit limit

2 KINGS 4:1-7

A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few.4 “And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”The Holy Bible, New King James Version, 1982.

GOD UNLIMITED

The story of soap-maker William Colgate:

His family was poor and at the age of 16 he left home to seek his fortune. The only thing he knew was how to make soap and candles. He met an old canal-boat captain who gave him this advice: "Be a good man, give your heart to Christ, pay the Lord all that belongs to Him, make an honest soap, and I’m certain you’ll be a prosperous and rich man."

William arrived in New York and got a job in a soap factory. The first dollar he earned, he gave 10% to God. Soon he became a partner. Later he became the owner. The business grew, so he gave a double tithe, 20%. Then a triple tithe, a four-fold one, half his income - finally he was giving all his income to the Lord. He was faithful to God, and his name is with us today on every tube of Crest toothpaste - Colgate-Palmolive.

5) WAGONS OR BAGS

Gen 45

GENESIS 45:18-20

18 ‘Bring your father and your households and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.19 ‘Now you are commanded—do this: Take carts out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come.20 ‘Also do not be concerned about your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’ ”The Holy Bible, New King James Version, 1982..

They had to bring their best

They were eating with the King

They did not have to stand in line anymore

They received wagons

Their brother made sure that they were OK.

Our Brother Jesus Christ has already paid the full price. So that we may live life with abundance.

6) CLOSURE

Call for repentance over dead words

Call for healing and salvation
