Losing Our Strength

Genesis 49:22-26

22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:

24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob;

25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

“Losing Our Strength”

What we need to realize in the church today is if we lose our arms then we will lose our strength.

Christians are losing their arms because they are not using them the way they should.

Ho 7:15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

God is the One who is able to srengthen our arms if we will let Him.

In our opening Scripture, Joseph is a type of Christ, Joseph is portrayed as Christ in His millennial blessings.

Genesis 49:23

23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:

This is speaking of what Israel did to Christ, but it could also be talking about what Joseph’s brothers did to him.

Joseph was thrown into a pit where there was no water and then he was sold into Egyptian slavery by his brothers.

Genesis 49:24

24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob;

Joseph knew that no matter what, God was his strength and he was not going to let go, no matter what the opposition.

Joseph was made strong by the mighty hands of God almighty.

This Scripture also potrays Christ and how God gave Him the strength that He needed.

Verse 24 also says: (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

Christ here is referred by two names “Shephard and the Stone of Israel”

Genesis 49:25-26

25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

God rose up Joseph for such a time as this.

Es 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Dream 7-9-09

I dreamed that I was dreaming. In the dream, I dreamed a couple was in a wreck and they had lost their arms. In the dream I woke up, and I was talking to this couple. The woman was upset because they were in a wreck and lost their arms. I knew that they would get disability, but I also knew that God could restore their arms. I knew that God could do a miracle.

Interpretation

Dream in a dream is a double dream- God is establishing something.

The couple was in a wreck and lost their arms.

Arms means power or strength

In the dream I knew that God could restore their arms.

Maybe today you have lost your power and strength.

What you need to do is start using what you have not been using, your arms to lift up and praise the Lord.

Heb 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

Exodus 6:5-8

5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.

God knows what you’re going through. Understand that God is your strength if you will let Him be!

God heard the children of Egypt as they were in bondage and He brought them out from their captivity.

Exodus 6:6

6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

The arm of the Lord represents where our strength comes from.

Joseph, while in the pit where there was no water, had to rely on God’s mighty arm to bring him through his pit.

Have you ever been in a pit and you needed rescued? There is only one way out that will work in our lives and that is cry out to God for deliverence.

Genesis 49:26

26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

God had a Divine destination for Joseph that was separarated from his brothers.

God had a crown that was going to be set upon his head and that crown came because he was going to obey and trust God even in his hardest of hard times.

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

1Pe 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

1 Peter 2:9

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people;

We are to shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Church, it is time to lift up your hands and start thanking God for what He is doing.

Are we starting to lose our arms, are we losing are strength?

We do not have time to be losing strength in the day that we live in.

Satan is trying to bring us down little by little, but we can say, “Stop in the Name of Jesus!”

I will lift my hands and I will praise God in all things.

Jer 33:11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

We have a promise of restoration!

Satan, Jesus came to set us free!

Church repeat after me!

Jesus came to set the captive free, if He has set me free then I am free indeed.

Joseph, while going through all that he went through, could have given up on God, but he perservered and he believed the Word of the Lord.

Are we going through it today?

Do we believe the report that has been given to us?

Are we losing our arms, are we losing our strengnth?

If we are, it’s time to get energized again; maybe you need a touch from the Master?

Maybe you need to hear a Word from Him for yourself.

Can I ask you a question? Are you in the Word, and are you talking to Him?

Ps 56:9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

Are you crying unto God, if you are then your enemies will turn back, this I know ; for God is for me.

Psalm 4:3-5

3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

He hears you today!

Lift up your arms and become strong in the Lord again!
