How to Overcome the Drama in your Life

John 16:33

Topic: How to overcome the “drama in your life”

There is a hip-hop singer whose name is Mary J. Blige. Mary J. Blige has a hit record that is entitled, “No More Drama.” In this song, “No More Drama”, Mary J. Blige talks about how tired she was from having so much drama in her life...

She talks about how tired she was from having a broken heart. She talks about how tired she was from being burned by some so-called friends. She talks about how tired she was from being hurt and, being in pain. She talks about how tired she was from being in tears. She talks about how tired she was from being in so much stress. She talks about how tired she was from being in bondage and that she wants to be set free from all the drama,,, and from all the madness that was taking place in her life....

And because Mary J. Blige said she was so tired of the drama that was taking place in her life, she makes a decision to learn from her mistakes, and she makes a decision to move forward in her life by having have “no more drama” in her life by avoiding that which was causing the drama in her life, and by letting go of the person, or the thing that was causing her so much drama.

And whether you want to admit it or not, all of us has some drama in our lives. Your drama may not be like Mary J.. Blige’s drama, or Your drama may not be like my drama, or my drama may not be like your drama, but if you had some problems in your life; if you had some pain in your life; if you had some setbacks in your life; if you had some tragedies in you life; if you had some disappointments in you life; whatever had you going down instead of going up , or whatever had you going backwards instead of going forward; whatever it was, it was still a drama.

All of us has had some drama, or still have some drama that is taking place in our lives. Some of us have had some drama in our lives at school, in our homes, in our neighborhoods, or on our jobs. Some of us has had some drama in our marriages, with our children, with our friends, with our neighbors, with the classmates at school, with the co-workers, and the boss at work. If you look and read the newspaper, or watch the 6’ O clock news, you will discover there is nothing but drama taking place all over the world all over the world. There is drama going on in the white house, as well drama taking place in the church house. There are some politicians who are having some drama in their lives as well as there are some preachers who are having some drama in their lives.

And it does not matter if you are a male or a female; it does not matter if your are young or old; it does not matter if you who are black, white, red or yellow; it does not matter if you are educated or not; it does not matter if you are rich or poor; if you live on planet earth, you have had some drama or you still having some drama in your life. And if you are a person who claimed to never have had any drama in your life, just keep on living. Drama will be knocking at your doorsteps one day.

Now a question is being asked: Why do we have dramas in our lives?

1.The reason why we have some drama in our lives is because of sin that is in the world.

Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

Sin produces nothing but drama . Sin is the reason why we have so many problems, so many wars, so many sickness or diseases, and so many deaths in our world today. Sin is the reason why homes and marriages break up. If there was no sin in the world today, we would have no drama in the world. But because of sin in the world, there is going to be all kinds of drama in our world today.

2.The second reason why we have drama in our lives is because of our disobedience. When we willfully disobey God and his Word, when we disobey our parents, when we disobey our teachers at school, or when we break the law of the land, we can bring some uneccesary drama into our lives such as bringing a curse upon yourself, getting a good whupping from your parents, getting kicked out of school, or spending a whole lot of time in jail. The reason why some people are in a bad shape and have so much drama in their lives is because they live their lives in disobedience to God. And usually a person who is always in disobedience and always bringing drama upon themselves is usually someone who don’t want nobody to tell them anything. They feel that they are grown and don’t need anybody to tell them anything because they know it all. But if they would learn to listen to somebody, but most importantly learn God’s word, they would not bring so much drama upon themselves.

3.The third reason why we have drama in our lives is because of certain bad people that are living in world today. There are some people in this world that will bring you nothing but drama in your life. It doesn’t matter how fine or how pretty the person may be, or how rich or how poor the person may, or how educated or how un-educated the person may be; there are some people in this world that will bring you nothing but drama in your life.. For example; people that use drugs can bring some drama into your life. People who get drunk all the time can bring some drama into your life. People who lie all the time can bring drama into your life. People who are physically or verbally abusive can bring drama into your life. People who have no sense of direction or purpose can bring drama into your life. People who are full of hate and anger can bring drama into your life. That is why you should not marry somebody just because they look good because a person may ever look so good but will give you a lifetime full of drama

4.The fourth reason why we have drama in our lives is because of Satan. Satan, the devil, and his demons loves to bring drama into our lives for he comes to steal, kill, steal, and destroy.

I Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigiliant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.”

Yes, all of us have had some drama in our lives. But the good news is that we don’t have to let the drama that comes into our lives control us. We can overcome the drama in our lives by doing these 7 simple things:

1.We can overcome the drama in our lives by trusting in the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.”

If you want to overcome any drama that may come your way, you need to trust in the Lord because he is able to handle any drama that may come your way.

2.We can overcome the drama that comes into our lives by calling upon the Lord for help.

Jeremiah 33: 3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great tings that thou knowest not.

If you are to overcome any drama that may come your way, you need to get on your knees and call on the Lord in prayer because God is able to handle whatever drama that you may be going through.

3.We can overcome the drama that come into

our lives by obeying the Word of God. Not only do we need to read the Word of God; not only do we need to come to church, come to bible study or come to Sunday School to learn what the Word of God says, but we need to obey the Word of God so we can overcome the drama that come into our life and to avoid the drama that may be out there in the world.

James 1:22 says. “Be ye doers of the Word of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

4.We can overcome the drama that comes to

our lives by resisting the devil.

James 4:7 says to “Submit yourselves unto God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

You see, the devil loves to bring drama into your life. He loves to tempt you to go places or do things that will bring nothing but drama into your life. But when we are tempted by the devil to yield to sin, we need to submit to the Lord Jesus Christ by calling on Him to help us overcome the temptation that the devil is trying to put on us and resist the devil by doing what Jesus wants you to do. Whenever you are tempted to sin by the devil think of WWJD? That is, think of “What would Jesus do in this situation?

5.We can overcome the drama that comes into

our lives by letting go of certain people who

bring nothing but drama into your life. There

are some people who bring nothing but drama

into our lives that we need to let them go.. If

you have a boyfriend or girlfriend who causes

you nothing but drama in your life, you need

to let him or her go. If you have a group of

friends who try to pressure you to take drugs,

drink alcohol, have sex, shoplift at the 7-11

store, or do a drive by shooting at someone,

you need to let him or her go.

I Corinthians 15:33 says that “Bad company

Corrupts good morals.”

6.We can overcome the drama that comes into

our lives by getting rid of that thing that brings the drama in to our lives

Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “Wherefore seeing we

also are compassed about with so great a cloud

of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and

the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us

run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher

of our faith; who the joy that was set before him

endured the cross, despising the shame, and is

set down at the right hand of God of the throne

of God.”

There are some things and some habits that

need to be lay aside if we are going to be able

overcome the drama that come into our lives

such as a bad attitudes, lying lips, malicious

gossiping, disobedience, witchcraft, drugs,

adultery, fornication, homosexuality, quick-

tempers, or any thing that come between you

and the Lord. Any thing or anybody that hinder relationship with Christ, and it brings nothing

but drama in your life, you need to let it go!

7. Last, but not least, we can overcome the drama that

come into our lives by receiving Jesus Christ into

our lives. We receive Jesus Christ into our lives

by repenting of our sins and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died upon the cross

for our sins and rose from the dead with all power

in his hands.

Acts 16:31 says, to “Believe in the Lord Jesus

and thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:9 says, “If thou shalt confess with

thou mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your

heart that God has raised him from the dead thou

shalt be saved.”

We can sometimes be overwhelmed by the things that this world throws at us. Sick kids, over due bills, deadlines and schedules,,, not enough rain for the crops, too much rain, cattle prices going down, the stock market going crazy, terrorists running loose,,,

I could go on and on.

And then on top of all that there’s the devil. He’s out there tempting us and trying to get at us any way he can. And just like Max Lucado we can sometimes get overly anxious, or even become frightened. And that’s when we need to remember how the story ends.

See, one of the great things about God is that He hasn’t kept the end of the story a secret.

He isn’t like one of those Hollywood screenwriters who keep the whole thing secret until it’s time to show the movie. No He wants us to see the big picture. He wants us to know that He wins, and so do we, if you’re in Christ.

So we need to remember don’t take Christ out of your drama...

There are many passages in the Bible that tell us this. Not in those exact words but the meaning is the same,,,say yes ,,,yes

And I don’t have time to go over them all today, but I do want to touch on a few of them.

There are three things we need to realize here. First of all, Satan had to ask. That tells us that God is in control. He is sovereign, all mighty, all-powerful, and He is still on the throne...

And there is nothing that happens without Him knowing about it and allowing it...

Now,,, Now let me explain this really quickly. God has a perfect will ,,, and a permissive will..... God’s perfect will was for man to never have sinned,,, and for the fellowship between man and God to remain intact...

Yes,,, God’s perfect will is for all men to be saved. However God’s permissive will is where God doesn’t necessarily approve of something and yet He allows it to happen any way....

My point is that God is in control, and Satan has to ask permission before he does anything...

And what Satan intends for evil, God can work it out for our good.

The second thing we need to realize is that Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. Notice what He said to Peter, ,,,

When you have returned, not if you return. I once witnessed to a person who told me that they couldn’t be saved because they had sold their soul to the devil...(My God ,,,My God) And I told that person that his soul wasn’t his to sell... He looked at me kind of funny,,, so I went on to explain to him that as a Christian we have been bought with a price.... The blood of Jesus has redeemed our souls from hell.... I then told him that if he wasn’t a Christian then his soul already belonged to the devil... You see,,, there’s no middle ground.,,,

As Christians we have been redeemed, bought back. We are not our own, Jesus bought us away from our old master.. And then Jesus placed his seal of ownership on us, called the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30 tells us that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption.... And when you become a Christian Jesus becomes ,,, the author,,, and finisher ,,,of your faith.

The Bible also tells us in Romans 8:34 that Jesus is at this very moment ,,, is making intercession for us at the right hand of the Father. Just like He did for Simon Peter, Jesus is praying for us. And that’s the third point we need to understand. If God be for us, who can be against us? Did you know that Jesus never prayed a prayer that wasn’t answered? And not only is Jesus praying for us, but Romans 8:26 tells us that the Holy Spirit also makes intercession for us. Now just think about this for a second.. We have two members of the Godhead, two members of the Holy Trinity praying and interceding for us. If that doesn’t make you happy then I don’t know what will...

Right now Jesus is protecting you.

Right now Jesus is in the midst of your drama.

You might feel like the whole world is against you ,,, but don’t worry. 1st Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

Peter knew that better than most people. In 2nd Peter 2:9 he says, “the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations…out of drama” Don’t take Christ out of your drama. He will rescue you. God hasn’t kept us in the dark. He tells us that in this world we will have trouble....

Yess ,,,Disease and sickness ,,, can attack our bodies, divorce can destroy homes,,, Disasters and tragedies can strike us and our families,,,, and death comes to us all....

The ratio of death to life is one to one. We shouldn’t expect anything less, but just because the devil shows up,,, and throws a monkey wrench,,, in our lives,,, doesn’t mean that we should panic, because even though in this world we will have trouble, lets not for get the last part of that verse, “but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” Jesus has overcome; it’s past tense. It is finished, the battle is over. Be alert but don’t be alarmed. Satan walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, but when you submit yourself to God and resist the devil, he will flee from you. In other words, don’t take Christ out of your drama. Revelation 12:12 tells us that the reason the devil is filled with fury is because he knows his time is short. That old devil knows that his time is running out, and he’s going to do anything,,, he can to try and get at God. And since he can’t get at God, he tries to get at us, but before he can do that he has to ask permission.

So what I’m trying to say here is fear not. Don’t be anxious for anything. God is in control. Jesus tells us in Matthew 24, “that all of these things must come to pass, but see that you are not troubled.” See God has a plan and a purpose for our lives. And He has a plan and a purpose for the trials He allows to come into our lives. In most cases the trials and tests that we go though are in effect, spiritual growing pains. They bring our faith to maturity, and help us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now I know that there are a lot of things going on in the world these days, sometimes it’s just down right depressing,,, to watch the news ,,,and I know,,, that some of you might have things going on in your personal lives that are even more frustrating,,, or disheartening,,, but before you become anxious,,, or fearful stop for a minute ,,, and think about the promises,,, of the Lord given in God’s Word....(Good God Almighty)

Stop and think about all the other times that God has brought you through other trials and times of crisis....

Just take a little bit of time to think about the faithfulness of God.

Now maybe today you do have a lot of worries and fears. Maybe today you are going through some type of drama,,, but the Bible tells us that we have the victory in Jesus Christ....

However if you have never received Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you’re already defeated, but there’s good news. And that good news is that you can accept Him today.. You can have peace when you come to know the Prince of Peace. So if you would like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I invite you to come today.

Come see a man ,,,, (Take Off...)
