How I Met Your Mother

1 Corinthians 7

Stop LOOKING and start LIVING.

1. Are you really going to be BETTER off?

Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for you to remain as you are. 1 Cor. 7:26

2. Instead of seeking a MATE, choose to seek the LORD.

Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife. 1 Cor. 7:27 (Genesis 24; Ruth 1-4)

3. Instead of SULKING, become SUCCESSFUL.

I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord. 1 Cor. 7:32 (Genesis 39)

4. Remember, MARRIAGE can be a MIGRAINE.

But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this. 1 Cor. 7:28

5. CONCENTRATE on your CALLING.

Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side. 1 Corinthians 7:24 (MSG)

Ra’yah – FRIEND, companion, or "soul mate"

Aha’vah – deep AFFECTION that leads to deep COMMITMENT

Dode – carouse, rock or to FONDLE

The BIG Question:

Will I GRIPE, GRAB or GROW?
