THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS
Text: I Peter 1: 18,19
Thank God for the BLOOD! If you take the BLOOD out of our body we die! (Lev. 17:11
The life of the flesh is in the blood) This is also true concerning the Body of Christ – The Church. If you take away the BLOOD OF JESUS we die. --- We are not only a people of the Book, we are people of the BLOOD. The Bible is not only a Blest book it is a BLOOD book. The word BLOOD is found 415 times in the Bible!
*The Bible begins with BLOOD in Genesis, when an animal was slain to provide clothing for Adam & Eve. (It was a case of the innocent dying for the guilty)
*Cain & Abel (Gen.4) – Man’s way verse God’s way – Abel brings BLOOD sacrifice and is accepted – Cain brings his works and is rejected! (Man is doing the same today,
Trying to get to heaven by good works - Good works exalt man – The BLOOD of Jesus exalts God!!
*Noah (Gen. 8: 20,21) – Came by the way of BLOOD!
*Abraham (Gen. 22:13) – Came by the way of BLOOD! He took his only son Isaac
on the mountain to slay him at God’s command – But God provided a ram caught in the thicket! --- GOD LOVED ABRAHAM SO MUCH THAT HE SPARED HIS SON – BUT HE LOVED THE WORLD SO MUCH THAT GOD GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON!
*The Passover (Ex. 22:13) When I see the blood I will pass over you! --- Not when I see your good works, Not how you prayed, wept or groaned I will pass over you.
BUT WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD, I WILL PASS OVER YOU!
(Think, as the children of God were putting blood on the doorpost….. The people probally mocked and and made fun of them…. But that’s ok let others laugh and make light of the blood – It is our refuge, and our only hope) -- Heb. 9:22 – Without shedding of the BLOOD is no remission!
*Leviticus 8:23 – BLOOD one the ear (Could not hear or understand the voice of God)
BLOOD on the hand (Could not work) BLOOD on the foot (Could not walk)
YES, THE BIBLE BEGINS WITH BLOOD IN GENESIS AND ENDS WITH BLOOD IN REVELATION 19:13 – WHEN JESUS RETURNS FROM GLORY WEARING A ROBE “DIPPED IN BLOOD”
And not just blood but “Precious Blood – This is not ordinary BLOOD. There is no other BLOOD like it. IT WAS THE PURE, PERFECT, SINLESS BLOOD OF GOD HIMSELF! --- Acts 20:28 – He purchased the church with His own BLOOD! The BLOOD shed on Calvary’s Cross was the BLOOD of God! Precious BLOOD!
I John 1:7 – Says the BLOOD of Jesus His Son CLEANSETH from ALL sin!
It does not say “has cleansed us” or “will cleanse us” -- The BLOOD OF JESUS Cleanseth us and keeps on Cleansing us. It cleanses us today, It will cleanse us tomorrow, and it will keep on cleansing forever and ever! THE BLOOD WILL NEVER LOOSE ITS POWER! You go to the grocery store and many things have a expiration date… But the BLOOD of JESUS Will never expire!
IT IS THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS!
