Summary: This sermon is told in story fashion and chronicles events from before time into eternity.

This is a simple outline that I use as a guide to talk through each section. A well versed memory of these areas and chapters is necessary to deliver this monolgue from memory.

This outline is an over view of each of the chapters I will present and is meant to start the discussion on each area. The delivery of this message is in story fashion and is a running monologue explaining the events from before creation till the complete redemption. I start on a stool and animate as a story teller through-out.

(The power point should follow the chapters and not necessarily the content, there is a picture for each chapter)

Chapter One – Before time

The period when God existed without his creation called man. He was attended to by the angles. God existed beyond time and space.

Chapter Two: The beginning of time

This is the name that God gave for what we call “creation”. The Bible simply says in the beginning of time.

God creates all that there is in 6 days and rests

It was in this time that the chief angel, Lucifer decided to rebel against God. Many believe between verses 1 & 2 of Genesis 1. (more about that in Isaiah 14).

So God creates with great precision a massive system of universes and planets and universes within universes. The number of which are not able to be known with exact accuracy.

How vast is the universe? It would take a beam of light which travels at 700 million miles per hour 100,000 years to just to cover the distance of our universe (remember the number of universes is immeasurable)

Example: if we took the thickness of a piece of paper and made that represent the distance of the earth to the sun (93 million miles away) – to represent the distance to the nearest star called Alpha Centuri, we would need to stack paper 71 feet high. To cross the diameter of the Milky Way (That’s where we live) would take a stack of paper 310 miles high. To reach the edge of the known universe would demand a stack of paper 31 million miles high.

The universe is just as small with levels of minuteness far below the atom and its components (electron, neutrons and protons,) sub atomic particles also include; fermions, quarks, leptons and mesons.

So God creates it all the earth the skies, the sea and then the animals and finally His crowning jewel of creation MAN!

God created man because He desired to have children. When God was done, he said “It is good”.

Chapter Three: The downfall of man

So God creates his children and puts them in a paradise, a place that can’t even be described, it’s so beautiful. It’s the Garden of Eden. The term Eden is the equivalent to the word paradise.

Man is given three instructions: 1. Be fruitful 2. Multiply 3. Don’t eat one fruit.

God opens everything to man but asks Him not to eat one thing. This was a test of obedience and a test of devotion. Man failed.

Sin entered the world, man was doomed, he was spiritually separated from God because of disobedience, Satan it appeared had won, but God had a backup plan.

God’s plan went into motion.

Chapter Four: God’s plan for rescue

God jumps into action, He clothes man and woman with the skins of an animal, some think the skins may have still been bloody from the sacrifice that God made of the animal.

God sets in place a sacrificial system that would mirror and speak of the once for all sacrifice that God would bring later on.

Adam and Eve and people from then on, were to offer an animal as a sacrifice for their sins. The animal would represent the cost of the sin and would show a faithful obedience on the part of man.

In God’s plan eventually was to bring a sacrifice that would do away with the system of animals. This sacrifice would be a person that would take on himself the sins of the world. This person would come through a particular family and be born into the world as the promise of God.

We see Abraham raised up and made to be the father of a great nation – Israel. His descendants were to be the ones through whom this sacrifice would come.

All the while Satan was working to go against God’s plan. He tries to wipe out the Israeli nation over and over again. The latest attempt came in Nazi Germany. Now Iraq has that same quest.

As time goes by we see the blood line of this one promised going through Kings and peasants, men and woman.

Adam - Man

Seth - Appointed

Enosh - Mortal

Kenan - Sorrow

Mahalalel - The blessed God

Jared - Shall come down

Enoch - Teaching

Methuselah - His death shall bring

Lamech - Despairing

Noah - Comfort and rest

The prophets set the stage through numerous prophecies of the one who would come and lift the curse. They speak, they proclaim and they endure with their word.

From the very beginning of Genesis starting in chapter 3, till the very end of the prophetic period in Malachi we see a running theme of a coming Messiah, the promised one.

The very last words of the Old Testament in order are the words promising the fore-runner to this Messiah.

Mal 4:5-6 (NIV) "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."

Chapter Five: God is silent

There comes a period of time for 400 years that God just stops speaking. The prophets of the Old Testament are gone there are no judges and the Holy writings stop. There’s much unrest in the holy land and the Jews once again are the captives of another civilization. It seems as if there’s little hope for mankind. The promised nation is conquered, the God of heaven is silent. Man goes on with his business.

Chapter Six: The Miracle

All of the sudden something happens. In the midst of the quiet, the stillness of life, the time when God had apparently just left man to himself, He shows up again, but this time with a message through an angel to the lowly of the lowest; a peasant girl, her espoused husband and Shepherds.

Things begin happening again, God is on the move and for some who were looking the promises were about to be fulfilled.

The girl miraculously gives birth to a Son fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah 7:14, she does this after God places in her womb a heavenly seed. The one born is to be called Jesus. (Jehovah saves).

The Son begins his life in the lowest of places a dirty, smelly animal trough, yet by the age of 12 he’s confounding the brightest Jewish religious leaders with his insight and understanding.

There’s definitely something special about this boy.

By the time he reaches the appropriate age to become a Rabbi, the age 30 he begins a ministry of love where He touches and teaches.

He’s seen touching the lives of thousands with his words and with something else –

HIS MIRACOULOUS HEALINGS.

• A woman comes with an issue of blood Jesus heals her.

• Some men come to him unclean because of leprosy.

• A woman caught in adultery, Jesus forgives her.

• Once a man came because his daughter had died, Jesus raised her.

The people follow and run just to see this man from Galilee, a simple son of a carpenter – yet so much more.

He gathers twelve men that become his followers and they begin the same work of love.

He bucks against the religious authority of His day. They accuse Him, try him and murder him on a cross meant for a thief.

They bury Him. Again it seems that once again the dream has died….

Chapter Seven: The Dream Comes Back To Life

After three days in the grave this promised seed of God does the most amazing thing ever recorded in the history of man.

HE COMES BACK TO LIFE – Proving authority over death and hell and the grave!

While He was dead he went to the underworld and released captives. Some of them actually walked the earth again, others went right on to heaven. He proclaimed victory over God’s arch enemy the devil and then rose from the dead!

He was born with impossible circumstances and he was raised from the dead with impossible circumstances. Our calendars are marked by this event and nothing else in the history of man comes close to altering our world as this event.

Chapter Eight: The Birth of God’s family

At this time Jesus was ready to go back to heaven but he first looked at all of his followers and said, I have work for you to do. Go, spend the rest of your lives telling people of the good news, help them to become followers of God. There’s a great reward waiting and remember this he said, I will be with you always.

Chapter nine: The ever after

One day Jesus is coming back to the earth but before he does, Satan will try to undermine God’s plan once again. He will set up a world leader to bring a pseudo peace. He will then establish this leader as a dictator who demands absolute conformity to his ways.

He establishes the unholy Trinity of the Beast, the false prophet and the anti-christ. There will be a 7 year period of control. The first 3 1/2 years will be peace, the second 3 1/2 years all Hell breaks loose on the earth.

At the end Armageddon – then the 1,000 year reign of Christ, the millennial period of true peace on the earth.

At the end of this period of time Satan is loosed and tries to deceive the nations once again. He’s bound, cast into the lake of fire forever with his followers, the fallen angels and people who chose to reject Jesus.

God instantly unveils our eyes to a new heaven and a new earth.

God has promised for each of us something so amazing. The God that created the immense heavens and the earth, and the atoms and the sub-atomic particles of the world, has something waiting for those who follow him.
