Our God is holy; the reason why you may be living an unholy life is that YOU haven’t done what you are supposed to do to stop it and you may have been defeated into thinking it’s impossible to live a holy life. However, be informed today that it is incumbent on you, it behooves you—which ever way you want it said—it is your duty to quench the fire of unholy lifestyle! Otherwise it burns up the person.
Sexual immorality does not just offer evil pleasure; the pleasure also quenches the fire of the Holy Spirit at the same time (see 1 Thessalonians 5:19) and also dispossesses the Christian of certain attributes both physical and intangible (see Obadiah 1:17, Hosea 4:10-12, NIV). It takes away knowledge which includes the food of the word of God you have been fed with and/or any other worldly knowledge that may be useful to you. One way the devil can accomplish this taking away of knowledge is by shrouding it whenever it is needed, making it inaccessible. This will result in inadequacies such as: memory loss, lack of will power, and tolerating a little more evil.
The Scripture says, “But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth”—Colossians 3:8, NKJV. And again, “Therefore PUT TO DEATH your members which are on earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry”— Colossians 3:5, NKJV.
People kill after they must have nursed hatred for their target. YOU must hate the sin you are struggling with and this can be achieved by asking the Holy Spirit to “give you power to hate the sin” (see Hebrew 1:9). YOU also have to say it out repeatedly that you hate the sin. YOU also have to command the power and demons behind it to “die” (remember you are instructed to ‘put to death’ above) repeating the word ‘die’ a number of times, then you bind and cast them into the abyss as you command them to come out of you. YOU may have to command the tree of … (mention the sin) to be pulled up by the root and the serpent to be slain by God Himself (see Matthew 15:13, Isaiah 27:1). Fasting and praying along with these points for a whole day will yield good results. If result is still not good, the Spirit of God can reveal relevant secrets to you upon request, you may need to pray more or pack out of the environment because there may be a close familiar agent supervising the failure.
If these habits are not put to death they will eventually put their victims to death in a subtle manner: “But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death”—James 1:14-15, NKJV. That is their mode of operation. In addition, the powers behind these habits have nothing else to do until they accomplish their purpose. They never go on break or resign unless of course you have enough spiritual fire to pray them to a halt. They cling to their targets like leech, but setting your spiritual life on steady fire burns them to death. You must physically burn pornographic material in your possession including: adult VCD or DVD, magazines, literature; and wipe such computer and mobile phone stored images (see Acts 19:19).
With the power to hate sin intact, the enemy is successfully resisted and flees. Then, a sound human spirit can be maintained, and the enemy has a difficult job finding something to build on. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” If you fall short of the desire for holy living at any point in time, then you must ask for the hunger for holiness. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled”—Matthew 5:6, NIV.
