Ephesians 5:1-20

I. We are to be IMPERSONATORS OF GOD

Ephesians 5:1

• This takes INTENTIONAL LIVING

a. It doesn’t happen on its own

b. We have to make choices each day to live right or not.

c. Paul explains this is a way were we choose to do it

d. God through His holy Spirit has enable us to live a life of love

e. God doesn’t call us to do anything he doesn’t enable

• This take INTIMACY WITH GOD

a. It won’t happen if we don’t spend time to get to know God.

b. We can’t be like someone we don’t know

c. We spend time with God in our

i. Devotions

ii. Prayer

iii. Service etc

The goal of our efforts

• We live a SACRIFICIAL LIFE Focused on others BEST INTERESTS

There is a clear moral obligation

• To abstain from IMMORAL ACTS

Ephesians 5:3-5

a. Sexual immorality

b. Impurity

c. Greed etc

Our motivation is

• We are CHILDREN OF LIGHT

a. “as dearly loved children”

i. God loves us

ii. We love him back

• God SAID SO!!
