The Simple Truth Text: John 6:22-29LB

The crowds were on their way to Jerusalem. It seemed like a normal passover celebration. However, on their way, they hear Jesus. They have grown accustomed watching Him as He performs one miracle after another. Once again, the crowd had gathered to watch in their eyes a side show. An important fact though, “Jesus wasn’t performing, He was just being ‘God!’ (Big difference)

As Jesus feeds the multitudes- He’s just being God. In John 2, As Jesus turned water into wine- He’s just being God. When Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda- He’s just being God.

*John 6:14-15NLT When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, “Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!” 15 When Jesus saw that they were ready to force him to be their king, he slipped away into the hills by himself.

Jesus saw the crowd, ready to take Him by force and make Him their King, so He went higher into the mountains alone.

Can I remind you, that the gifts and callings that presently belong to you, first belonged to the giver of those gifts, Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 4:8NLT That is why the Scriptures say, “When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.”

Fact, His desire is to fill the earth with Himself.

*Could it be, when our motives are anything other than ‘believing Jesus Christ’- He in-return moves away from our desires and wishes?

Spend your energy and time seeking eternal life.

How do we seek eternal life daily? By studying and applying every verse about our redemption, and being sure of our redemption. ( Say, Lifetime.)

Key verse* John 6:29NLT Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the One he has sent.”

Product knowledge: We pentecostals are guilty of getting saved and going right into experiences, but then living unsure about our first works. (God’s love)

What was the crowds reply? “Show us another sign!”

John 6:39-40NLT And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. 40 For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

*Simple truth, many say, “they believe, but still worry.

Romans 6:23NLT For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:11NLT So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

Galatians 2:20NLT My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 3:13NLT But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.

The curse is cursed, and every believer is blessed!
