Summary: Jesus never said: These signs will follow them that agree, but them that BELIEVE

Heb 11:1-6

Faith =The believers 6th sense. Faith is the believers ability to see what cannot be seen with the natural eye, To hear what cannot be heard with the natural ear, and to taste what cannot be tasted with the natural taste.

Faith is this supernatural sense that is birthed in the human heart when Gods word is heard, received, believed, and acted on.

It enabled Elijah to hear the sound of an abundance of rain when not one drop had fallen from the sky in 31/2 years.

It sustained a widow woman through the famine, Her meal barrel wasted not and the cruse of oil did not fail until the Lord sent rain according to the word of the Lord by Elijah.

By faith a widow woman went from nothing but a small pot of oil, to an abundance that satisfied her creditors, and blessed her family

Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, (moved) with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Heb 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, (after they were compassed) about seven days.

Notice the action words connected with faith in those sentences: Moses (moved).

The walls of Jericho were (compassed, or walked around for seven days).

Faith is not a generic mental assent to the truthfulness of the word of God.

Anyone can say: I believe in the strength and the ability of that bridge to support the weight of my car and myself, but it’s not faith on your part until you are driving across yourself.

Mk 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

If Gods word is true (we know it is,) why do we not see more of the power of God manifested in our lives ?

I believe the answer is in understanding what Jesus meant when he said “Believe” Believers.

We have raised a generation of mental assenters = agreeing with the mind to the truth of the word.

But from Jesus perspective believers are more than agree’ers they are doers.

James 2:19 tells us that devils believe and tremble but they don’t do any righteous works of faith.

The plague that has infected the church world is that of calling the agreement of the mind a vital and living faith, calling it believing, but it is not beliving without corresponding actions.

According to the scripture faith has corresponding works, and without works it is dead, That means that a believer is a doer.

Illustration: To agree that tithing is a biblical principle, that transcends both old and new covenant, does not make you a believer, it just makes you an agree’er and you can agree and not be a doer.

But the minute you act on what you agree with you have become a biblical believer.

* The same with Prayer, to agree to the great need of prayer in your life does not make you a praying person.

* To agree to Jesus words (This kind goeth not forth but by prayer and fasting) does not give you power over demons.

*To agree to liberty of the Spirit to worship the Lord by praising, clapping the hands, shouting, dancing, does not make you a liberated worshiper.

* To agree to Jesus words concerning self denial and taking up the cross brings us no closer to resurrection power, (we must be doers).

Believers are Doers. And Doers are Seers.

In other words: We will see the manifestation in the doing, not the agreeing.

The reason we haven’t seen more of the power and the glory of God in our lives is because we have mistakenly accepted a mental assent = agreement of the mind for bible believing.

Many people will say they believe the bible, but if they are not living according to it’s principles, they don’t believe they just agree.

When we Believe we will do, and when we do or become doers of what we are agreeing with we will see the power of God .

At the tomb of Lazarus Jesus says to Take away the stone

Joh 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

What was between the believing and the seeing ? ( The doing= Removing the stone).

We can talk about prayer, sing about prayer, write songs about prayer, preach about prayer, teach about prayer, but we will not experience the benefits and the power of prayer until we pray.

The same with fasting: We can preach and teach about the need for fasting, and how Jesus and his disciples fasted, and the great benefits of fasting according to the bible, but until we actually push the plate away, and deny ourselves (There will be no release of power, there will be no captives set free or yokes destroyed).

The same with liberated worship: You can agree that worship is a biblical truth, and that we are free to worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth as the Spirit of God moves upon our hearts.

But until we actually respond to that touch of God upon our hearts and pour our worship out on him, we’re just spectators.

James says it is not the forgetful hearer who hears and agrees with the word but does nothing with it who is blessed, but the doer is the one who is blessed.

If you want to breakthrough into a new dimension of spiritual power and authority, Just determine that from now on no matter what it looks like or feels like, you are going to be a doer of the word.

For when we believe we will do, and when we do we will see.

Remember Jesus said: These signs shall follow them that believe, not them that agree.

There are people sitting in the bars right now that will agree with you that Jesus is the son of God and that he died on the cross, but that doesn’t make them saved.

And there are multitudes of people sitting in our churches all across the land that will hear the Word of God preached and nod their heads in agreement, but never lift their finger or move their foot to put it into actions.

I’m closing now but I have one question to ask: Is there a Believer in the House?
